The location of the hotel is definitely a plus: within walking distance to the train station (Reef Mall), barely 15 minutes from Dubai International Airport, in the prestigious Salahuddin Road, Deira, Dubai, and just a few walks a way from metro station, major shopping malls and business establishments

Facility

This hotel has a lift and a reception desk. Amenities available at the hotel include a baggage storage service, a safe and a currency exchange service. Wireless internet access is provided in public areas. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The hotel has a range of facilities for guests with disabilities. There are a number of shops as well. Additional facilities include a TV room. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the garage or in the car park.     Definitely not Dubai 5-star, but OK if you get a good rate and don't mind being in the fringe of the city

    If you get a VERY good rate, don't mind spending a small fortune on taxis (or spending a lot of time on pubic transport), don't mind being a bit pushy about room allocation, and are charmed by shabby-chic, you'll be fine. Just try your best to get a "refurbished" room. Oh, and best to avoid the predatory taxis waiting by the hotel: ride-sharing apps are your friends.But in fairness, it's hard to understand how this place attained 5-star status, but it's old enough to have been close to the epicentre of Dubai when it opened, at a time when comfortable hotels were thin on the ground. Moving on quarter of a century and the Crowne Plaza is an establishment lacking in polish, desperately in need of refurbishment, marooned on the outer edge of a city known for its luxurious accommodation options.With the tourist dirham tax linked to the star rating, we the customers are paying the price of the vanity of the hotel owners. Quite how the hotel manages to maintain that rating is a mystery ..... or maybe not :)Back to my stay. I was there only because family members had inexplicably opted for a stopover holiday package there. I know Dubai pretty well, and for me 5-star Deira suggested Creek, not this spot among massage places and shops selling car parts. The rate was high, yet i had to really work my IHG Diamond status to get a room even approaching 5-star conditions. I have an annual lounge pass, but reception insisted I show evidence of that on the IHG app: then there was an argument about whether or not lounge access included breakfast downstairs. i wanted to join the others in the restaurant, and in any case i don't think b'fast is served in the lounge. Luckily diamond status trumped the situation and i was free to plan the day's activities with my family over b'fast - and to be honest the food and the service there were just fine.Other IHG hotels, including the Intercontinentals in the city, manage these things with a grace lacking at the CP.     No security, old rooms, helpless staff

    Normally I don’t write bad reviews, but this was nightmare!I was staying for business for 3 nights.Hotel looks old, staff is not helpful. Breakfast was badly served and not fresh enough.After check out they didn’t provide me lunch box, no invoice was provided. I asked 2-5 times, but no luck.After my stay I didn’t get points and nights for stay. In my room was black Nike shorts which were stolen. There was about 200 EUR cash.Security was ignoring me.     Very bad service and extremely rude staff

    Location is okay and rooms are average. Food is okay. What surprised me is most of the staff are extremely rude. 1. Person who prepares dosa at buffet breakfast. 2. Service staff who was serving on banquets. 3. Housekeeping staff do not understand the word urgent even if someone is injured. 4. Seen reception person talking loudly and arguing with customer. I have never seen such kind of staff ever. Overall a very bad experience. Not recommended to anyone.     VERY UNPLEASANT STAY

    Dear Sir/Madam,I have had a terrible experience since I checked-in at Crowne Plaza, Dieta on 10/2/2026. The duty officer upon my check-in was exceptional and explained t me the delay in allocating my room. However, the room was for disabled person, shower tap was extremely difficult to use, safe not working in the room and could also the door could not be locked from inside. On first day, the housekeeping team never bothered replacing the shower mat/towel nor replace the hand towel other than the one which I had not used. Dining (on Tuesday, 10/2/2026 evening) was pathetic especially being a vegetarian and nothing there was possible for me to have. Even upon requesting to prepare something, was told it is not possible in the Spice Island restaurant. My only option was steamed rice!! Similarly I decided to try Brioso Italian Restaurant on Wednesday evening. Once again, no dessert available besides the moulten chocolate and worse still, no coffee, cappuccino or any other beverage was available. Is this really the caliber of Crowne Plaza Hotel. My experience would be rated extremely poor and feel totally disappointed. I feel the management should have at least considered better vegetarian options on daily basis and courtesy should be extended to guests to satisfy their needs rather than just saying not possible.I hope other guests will not have similar experience to mine and the management should intervene for your client satisfaction.
