    “Unprofessional Staff, Privacy Issues & Safety Concerns”

    I am currently staying at Signature Hotel Barsha Heights under a 6-month offer arranged through an agent, and unfortunately my experience has been very disappointing.From the first day, the reception staff was not welcoming. One staff member in particular behaved very rudely, ignored requests for assistance, and even made inappropriate personal remarks about me to my husband, calling me a “crazy girl” and a “bad girl.” This is completely unacceptable in the hospitality industry.There were also multiple issues with the services promised versus what was actually provided. We were initially told that cleaning would only be once per week, even though our agreement clearly included twice-weekly cleaning. The same confusion happened with parking, which was part of the offer but was denied until we pushed multiple times. Even basic items like bath mats were later said to be chargeable, which was never communicated before check-in.Another major concern is privacy and safety. Housekeeping entered our room without proper permission on two occasions—once when we were not there and once while my husband was inside. We were told that after knocking three times they can enter, which is not acceptable and made us feel unsafe. Additionally, I had a very concerning experience within the hotel premises. One day near the R floor elevator area, a suspicious individual approached me after being seen hiding in the men’s washroom. Security later intervened and removed the person from the property. This incident happened recently and was extremely unsettling, especially as a female guest, and raises serious concerns about overall safety and monitoring within the hotel.Regarding the cooking concern, we have been living in Dubai for the past 7 years and had many personal belongings with us at the time of check-in. During one instance when housekeeping entered our room without our consent, they noticed these items and later we received a call from reception instructing us not to cook using a rice cooker. This assumption was made without any basis and felt unnecessary and intrusive. If we did, there would be fire alarm. We dine outside most of time and barely stay at home.We also deposited AED 500 at the time of check-in, but were later charged an additional AED 500. The reason given was related to a verbal argument, which is unfair and unjustified. There was no physical altercation, no damage to property, and no intention to harm or destroy anything. As guests, we are fully aware of the consequences and would not engage in such behavior.Overall, the stay has been stressful due to poor communication between the agent and hotel, unprofessional staff behavior, and lack of respect for guest privacy. I would not recommend this hotel, especially for long-term stays.

    Dear Management of Signature Hotel,Your slogan says, “It’s a good day to have a good day.” Unfortunately, my recent stay did not reflect that message.I checked in on 21 February and checked out on 22 February 2026. Upon check-in, the receptionist (whose name I unfortunately forgot, but her badge indicated “Telephone Operator”) informed me of the AED 200 deposit requirement. I explained that I would provide the deposit once my companion arrived.After reaching my room, I called reception and requested to speak with Sagar, who was introduced to me as the supervisor on duty. I calmly asked whether it would be possible to waive the AED 200 deposit since we were staying for only one night, the stay was work-related (not leisure), and there was no minibar in the room.Before I could fully explain, he immediately declined and stated that it was hotel policy. I told him I completely understand hotel policies. However, policies can sometimes be reviewed depending on circumstances. Given that it was a short, professional stay, I politely asked for reconsideration.For context, I worked in the hospitality industry for seven years, including serving as a Shift Leader in a reputable international chain under the Marriott International. During my experience, we encountered similar guest requests, and when appropriate, we exercised discretion while still protecting the hotel’s interests. Hospitality is not only about policy enforcement but also about flexibility and guest relations.Sagar later called me again, stating he had spoken to his manager and that the deposit was still required. I requested to speak directly with the manager, but I was told it was not within his authority to resolve further. I respectfully question the purpose of holding a supervisory position during a shift if even minor guest concerns cannot be handled or escalated efficiently.Throughout this exchange, I remained respectful. However, I felt disturbed and distracted during my work because of repeated calls regarding the deposit. We had no intention of smoking, damaging property, or misusing hotel facilities. A small, short-term business stay should have been evaluated with some level of consideration.I fully respect hotel policies, but hospitality should also involve understanding, flexibility, and professionalism in communication.     Absolutely wonderful xperienced.
