    Avoid in Dubai.

    rating16 Apr 2026

I came to Dubai during the situation with Iran. I was here for work and the company I work for put me in what I thought was a beautiful hotel. Overlooking the amazing Meydan Racecourse. That soon changed. I had to move rooms twice because of other guests making noise….a lot of noise! Until early hours. The staff solution was to move me, the guest who wasn’t making noise. I have stayed at many hotels and this is without a doubt one of the worst. The staff do not know how to deal with situations and it’s easier for them to move the complainant rather than deal with the people causing the problems. AVOID!!! Ziad Sleiman, General Manager at The Meydan Hotel, responded to this review Dear Duderino1973,Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We sincerely regret that your stay did not meet expectations, particularly with regard to the disturbance you encountered. Please allow us to clarify that we do our utmost to contain and control any noise disruptions from neighboring rooms to ensure a quiet and comfortable environment for all our guests. In situations such as the one you experienced, our immediate priority is to resolve the concern as swiftly as possible. As a gesture of courtesy and to eliminate further inconvenience, we may offer a room move to the affected guest while simultaneously addressing the source of the disturbance. That said, we truly apologize if this approach left you feeling unsupported. Your feedback is invaluable and we will certainly review our processes to ensure that such matters are handled more effectively and with greater balance in the future.Nevertheless, we hope you might reconsider staying with us again, allowing us the opportunity to provide you with the experience you rightfully expected.Sincerely,The Meydan Hotel Management

WHAT TH HECK GOT INTO YOU?

    rating24 Feb 2026

This is by far the saddest Hoteltransformation I 'ver ever experienced ! :((((((((The early days:THE Meydan WAS !!! a jewel, sooo Dubai, a landmark, a fantastic concept:Unique, elegant, high quality and very fine materials, cool architecture outside and inside worked together so well, a timeless piece.Well maintained could it have been an iconic place for decades or centuries,It had a SOUL!Always stayed here a few days during stopover ( since 2010) , eventhough it's a bit aside from the airport, I just loved the combination of style, service, tranquility and of course to see the horses training in the early morning hours. At least they are still there. And now?The Meydan completely lost its own identity! I am sad.The interior now is beige, boring & cheap. The entrance looks like holiday on ice, uninteresting and not overly welcoming. It's good enough for conventions though, when people are occupied with other things to think about.Rooms, max. 3 * Quality.Plastic bathtub, 2 tiny sinks, Leather Imitate accessories , wardrobe in a light, glue smelly material, tiles on the floor in wood design ( either wood or tiles, but together it's for basements only), fake marble top on sofatable for usd 99,90......You feel like in a chinese copy of a scandinavian furniture shop.No make up mirror, no stationary to write a note, nothing. No more Quality.Despite the fact that the bottom of the showerdoor doesn't close properly, if you take a normal shower, the entire floor is wet, that the light switch especially for the bathroom is in an odd place, sometimes works, sometimes doesn't,that the electrical curtain doesn't work properly, it's constantly hooked somewhere etc. etc.Breakfast is ok though.(but missing a healthy corner, it's a bit on the fat or sugary side, no full grain bread, 3 kinds of fruit, 3 options of salad, otherwise oily and sweet stuff which tastes good, I am sure, but isn't for everybody).Funny choice of chairs on the breakfast terrace:For a sunny and very hot place like Dubai, somebody chose a FAKE plastic sheepskin seat... in white .....OOSoooo--no more Meydan for us. :((((which is sad to say because all the kind people & their Service was and is lovely, nothing to complain about that. Ziad Sleiman, General Manager at The Meydan Hotel, responded to this review Dear CSMmuench,Thank you for sharing your thoughts and for your valued loyalty to The Meydan Hotel since 2010. It truly means a great deal that we have been part of your Dubai stopovers for so many years. As part of our recent reimagination and transformation, the hotel has embraced a refreshed design concept aimed at creating a contemporary, comfortable environment for today’s travelers while continuing to celebrate our unique setting. We understand that change can feel significant, especially for guests who held a strong connection to the property's original style and we genuinely appreciate you taking the time to share your perspective.Your comments regarding the rooms, facilities, and breakfast selection have been carefully noted and shared with our teams as we continuously refine the guest experience. We are especially grateful for your kind words about our colleagues and their service, this remains the true heart and soul of our resort. We truly hope to have the opportunity to personally welcome you back and restore the special connection you have always felt with us, creating a stay that once again feels unmistakably like home at The Meydan Hotel.Warm regards,The Meydan Hotel Management
