    Rather disappointing one night stay

    rating29 Mar 2026

Overall this was a disappointing stay at the hotel with a few positive aspects. We booked a deluxe room through booking.com and then got an email from the hotel offering us an upgrade to an executive suite which we accepted. Having prepaid for the deluxe room when booking we were asked to pay for the upgrade at check in which we did. The executive suite was disappointing, in need of some refurbishment especially the windows, two of which did not close properly and we heard the wind whistle through them most of the night. It was clean though and some positives were the Rituals products in the bathroom. Water, soft drinks and some chocolate also included in the mini fridge. We had some pizza and fries along with drinks in the lobby bar in the evening, food was ok although we didn’t quite get the pizza we ordered. Again for me this area feels like it needs some refreshing. Breakfast had a good choice of hot and cold items although when we went down just before 9am some items had run out and did not seem to be getting topped up. The biggest issue I had was that they deep fried the soda and potato bread, lazy and ridiculous. Our biggest issue with the stay was at check out. When I handed the key cards back to check out the only thing the receptionist said to me was, ‘you need to pay for the upgrade’. No ‘good morning’, ‘did you enjoy your stay’, ‘was everything ok’, the usual chat when checking out. I explained I had paid for the upgrade when I checked in and I got no response, the receptionist just looked at what I assume was a manager who was working at the computer next to the receptionist. He looked at me and again I explained I had swiped my card at check in but would check it had actually been charged to my card. Whilst doing this the manager said to me, ‘no you have paid, it’s fine’. They both just stood there looking at me, no apology, no explanation, nothing….i just walked away and that will be the last time I set foot in that hotel. With the amount of hotels to choose from in Belfast I will have plenty of options. Just for balance the receptionist who checked us in was really excellent.

Very grubby. Not very clean in bedroom and hallways, the wood surround of the bath was warped. Blood stains on carpet. Hosting multiple loud events with very loud noise in corridors at night. Food at breakfast is of poor quality. Staff totally inattentive so much so I wasn't even checked in for breakfast nor offered tea/ coffee or anything during my stay. The 'fitness suite' barely has room for more than two people at a time and very limited equipment.

A lot of money for what you get

    rating28 Mar 2026

Just back from a 2 night trip to Belfast, we stayed here as we regularly stay in Clayton hotels and usually love them. Unfortunately this one didn’t do it for us! The cleanliness of this hotel is not ok!! I don’t know if the cleaning staff are aware but you need to clean all areas not just ones you think guests can see. The dust here is terrible., the windows and doors all need a good cleaning internally as does the reception/bar/breakfast area! The chairs in the reception/bar area need cleaning or replacing as there is marks all over them. We went to sit at a table for breakfast and moved because there was sticky dirty ketchup all over the chair! The rooms were okay, quite spacious again they needed a good dusting. The bar staff are quick to serve but not so quick to clear table's or wipe them after use. We went for breakfast on our first morning and there was plates ready for guests that hadn’t been washed properly. It’s Location is fantastic and it’s close to everything we walked most places and the parking across the road is fine and it’s a discounted rate but I wouldn’t want to walk over there at night alone as me and my husband went one day to get our car and there was a lot of homeless and people up to no good in there on the stairs. The breakfast was okay nothing to rave about, the bar was ok, there’s lovely pub the Linnen Hall across the road I couldn’t recommend it enough, the drive to the Titanic Museum was quick and stress free, it’s quick walking distance to the main square with restaurants and shopping. I wouldn’t be in a rush to stay here again id be looking somewhere else first, the staff are nice, rooms are spacious and had a good night sleep. The cleaning just really let it down.

“An excellent hotel to stay for a few nights, but I wouldn’t recommend eating there.

    rating24 Mar 2026

This hotel boasts a superb location, conveniently situated near popular pubs, diverse restaurants, and major public transport routes. The spacious guest room features comfortable furnishings, and the bathroom is modern, clean, and well-equipped with sleek fixtures and fresh towels.was disappointing. The chef prepared stir-fried vegetables in a way that lacked flavor and texture, frying them until they appeared dry and overcooked, resulting in a tasteless dish. Despite this, the staff members were friendly and attentive, offering good service throughout my stay.

    Poor value for the money

    rating23 Mar 2026

Rooms were terrible!!! I am not sure if that applies to 5th floor only but, the bathroom particularly was really filthy. There was hair tangled on the battery ( which obviously wasn’t ours), dirt on the bath tube ( It looked like no one cleaned it in a very long while). Disgusting! The lining on the bed looked extremely outdated and used as well as the towels. Dust and dirt in the carpet… I would’ve expected at least a pair of slippers considering the carpet state.Reception - neutral opinion. The staff could benefit of some customer care trainning, but apart of collecting the keys and leg them on check out, we didn’t crossed paths too much.Restaurant- decent food/ service but for a 4 star I would’ve expected a little bit more attention on the buffet area. We were eating breakfast at 8:30 and there were 2 slices of cheese left on the plate . Peppers and cucumbers looked like they have been from the previous day with peppers really wet/soggy… the cut fresh fruits tasted bad with the watermelon being slightly fermented, bread rolls could’ve been fresher, as well as the pastries… poor quality for the price we have paid. We have stayed 1 night, had to book the night before as they didn’t want to accommodate and early check in, and we had to check out at 11:00 . It was a joke of a service for 220£I wanted to add some pictures for others to see the state of the rooms but can’t find the option.I am sure that for the same amount of money are better hotels in the area.I have rated 1 star as didn’t had an option to leave the star ranking section blank
