    Convenient city hotel with Observatory

    rating14 Jun 2026

Very convenient city hotel in Belfast. Ten minute walk from the central station and five minute walk to the main city hall square. Service was professional, not as friendly as some other places in Ireland, but we had everything we needed and were grateful our luggage could be stored on arrival. The hotel has a beautiful Observatory bar. Small plate menu could be improved a bit but cocktails were impressive. My friend and I had a twin room and laughed when we saw the beds were placed inches apart from each other. Not enough space to walk or even shimmy between. And it was a large room! Still, given for decades Belfast had only one hotel, this was a good choice among many. Check out Orto's across the street for delicious pizza and Mediterranean salads!

    Very inadequate 5star

    rating13 Jun 2026

Booked as a romantic stay for my partner’s birthday. On arrival we left our bags as we were early. On returning to check in we were given our room on 14th floor. Everything seemed fine for a deluxe double until we noticed it had one towel and toothpaste on the bath tiles which I tried to wipe with tissue but couldn’t get between the tiles cleaned. We called reception to advise one towel isn’t enough for two women to be told they could give us two single beds! Almost shaming a same sex couple. We were leaving the room to go down when we noticed the security latch was broken and an indented mark on the door were someone had clearly bashed to get in. We were moved to a suite at 10:30 that night originally thought was great what a lovely upgrade we will Netflix and chill. No the tv had only bbc on it. Called again to which a BAR manager came and said if we had android phone we could mirror it. Excuse me! A suite should have the same features Infact better than a deluxe double. The security latch was again broken. Finally moved us again to a standard double just before midnight that had a security latch and two towels. Breakfast in the morning was not 5 star quality and I had to point out food laying on a floor which with only two tables on the staff should have seen. We spoke to another manager who offered us a complimentary stay in a better room so we didn’t waste our day any further but it approached 1pm and we were still waiting about. After a few arguments between us we asked for a refund and left. This could have been avoided but ensuring the rooms were adequately cleaned, checked and broken things changed instead we were insulated

    Would definitely stay here again!

Lovely hotel in a great location. Only a few minutes walk to so many places to visit. Only a 10 minutes walk cab ride to the Titanic Museum. The room was comfortable and well appointed. The bathroom was clean with luxury shampoo, conditioner, body gel and lotion provided. The restaurants had wonderful food. We got the bed and breakfast, the morning buffet was delicious! All the staff were friendly and helpful. Only stayed three nights but wish we had stayed more!

    Experience

    rating13 Jun 2026

We received a gift voucher to experience 5* luxury experience at the Grand Central hotel. On arrival we arrived before check-In but were advised that we would receive a call to let us know when our room would be ready, we never received the call! We stayed on the 22nd floor of the hotel yes the room was lovely they was no added luxury eg coffee machine or mini bar. We did to go to the Observatory for a drink, but to be absolutely honest when you go through the doors the smell of sewage would turn your stomach immediately! The staff are friendly and very accommodating.

Booked as a deal but stated it was belated birthday present , no little surprise on room arrival ? ( POOR) on 15th floor as a supposed upgrade not impressed ? found the upper bar totally ridiculous prices for a working class husband trying to impress ? having been a Hastings Stalwart fort 35 years we just found Hotel very uninviting compared to other venues , not sure it wants locals !!
