    Charges for leaving bags !!!!!

    rating07 Mar 2026

We have just returned from our stay. The rooms were clean, although quite small, which is what we expected from a budget hotel. However, what surprised us was the fee to leave our bags after checkout. We were charged £2 per bag, which is something I have never experienced before at a hotel. It just left our stay ending on a slightly negative note.

    Basic, Budget In Belfast

    rating22 Feb 2026

For the price you pay. You can’t really complain. Room is really basic, I do think having the toilet and shower separate to the room rather than just in it would be better, but you get what you pay for. Staff all great. Pizza and Drinks all very reasonably priced. It’s about a 15min walk into the middle of Belfast city so in a great spot. No complaints as it is a budget hotel, but it is basic- if you prefer some more space (and privacy) this may not be for you!

Not bad, not good - fine.

This hotel has definitely seen better days. The rooms are pretty outdated with shoddy paint jobs, broken shower doors and strange room layouts. If you have not stayed in an Ibis Budget hotel before it may be worth checking the layout of the room and assessing if that’s something appropriate for who you’re sharing a room with. The shower is a “separate room” to the main bathroom, separated only by a glass door. The same with the toilet, a “separate room” only it’s separated with a wooden door. The sink is in the bedroom between the “toilet room” and “shower room” with a small area for cosmetics etc. Outside of that the room was nice, housekeep came daily and the room came with AC and a smart TV. If you’re only staying in Belfast for a few days with a partner or extremely close friend / on your own I cannot knock this hotel too much. Location is amazing and it’s only a 10-15 minute walk into the main Belfast City Centre. The walk there is nice with pubs, cafes and the only Wetherspoons in Belfast along your way. There is a small “bar and kitchen” located in the reception offering really affordable late night snacks, wine, beer and bottled alcoholpops (all can be taken to the room or enjoyed in the dining area opposite reception). Every member of staff I spoke to was really nice and knowledgeable about the area if I needed a bit of advice etc on where to go. Overall the hotel is very much “fine”. It’s in a really good spot and has a lovely atmosphere often filled with groups of Hen/Stags.
