  Poor hotel even worse customer service

  Yesterday me and my son went to stay at the hotel with another friend and his son. The check process was fine and what you would expect. The hotel itself is old and tired and in need of refurbishment! However I could have lived with this but for what happened next. We went to the bar for dinner and me and ordered some drinks. Two pints and two soft drinks for the boys. Before my friend arrived the bar MANAGER Confronted my 13 year old son about drinking a pint of Guinness, she didn’t have the courtesy of looking or speaking to me the adult at the table. My son was embarrassed and didn’t know what to say. So I politely explained who’s the drink was as she picked it up and moved it. Maybe some customer service training is required for the management! Luckily the younger staff were much more friendly and understood how to talk to customers. Stay away from the steam room and sauna which are a health hazard.   Ideal location for a family event. Rooms very clean and staff are great and very helpful. Faradays restaurant serves a good selection of tasty, well prepared food.   I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed my stay. Reviews indicate it’s the best in the area (a relative hotel desert) and I can confirm it. The stand out are the staff who are well-trained, professional and friendly. The food in the restaurant is relatively simple but what makes it are the local Black Country staff. Great for visiting the Black Country Museum.   great hotel, handful of cons but nothing major

  Location: Nice location, ideal if you are a shopaholic as right opposite the Merry Hill shopping with loads of other restaurants etc. as well.Atmosphere: Lovely and inviting atmosphere with gorgeous minimalist decor and friendly staff members too.Rooms: Beautiful and spacious room, light, airy and fitted with black out curtains. Also in the room; a large wardrobe, safe, fridge, hair dryer, tea/coffee facilities, large TV and two chairs and a table. Plenty of storage for clothes also. Bathroom very spacious (though missing a toilet brush) with a large double shower & large sink facilities (with shampoo, hand soap etc. included) Great night sleep and lovely, solid beds.Value: Great value for money with all that’s included.Cleanliness: Room and hotel very clean in general, shower drain was dirty with hair wrapped around but other than that couldn’t fault the cleanliness. No dust in sight and pleasant smell when walking into the room.Noise Level: Couldn't hear a thing in our room! was some light chatter outside due to a wedding party that was staying at the same time but otherwise, no sound could be heard from outside the room.Service: Great staff, very helpful. Unfortunately our phone didn’t work in the room so was unable to order room service.Amenities: Great amenities included in the price. had full access to the pool, spa, jacuzzi, gym, sauna & steam room. restaurant on site which we didn’t get to try.Parking: Unfortunately parking isn’t free but was inexpensive for the 24 hours we were there however, if you are staying more than one night, you might consider staying elsewhere with cheaper/free parking. Overall: Really great hotel, great value for money and overall, a really pleasant stay.Would I stay here again?: YesCons to consider:- food expensive- parking isn’t free- shower drain full of hair and not cleaned properly prior- phone wasn’t working properly so unable to order room service and/or speak to reception during our stay.
