A very quaint little hotel on the edge of Tamworth, adjacent to a very comfortable, clean and welcoming pub. The staff were very hospitable. We had an overnight stay whilst visiting friends. The room was small but cosy, had the amenities as expected. AC, TV, hairdryer, kettle, tea, coffee and biscuits. The room did get quite warm but the AC is variable and can be changed to your liking. We turned ours off. The bed had clean, white bedding, very clean. The mattress, although didn’t keep me awake, was a little uncomfortably, the springs were quite visible. The bathroom/shower room was clean as were the towels. We had breakfast included and it was cooked to our liking. The hotel was in walking distance for the Castle, the river, and the town centre. Overall a pleasant stay for a night or 2.

Tamworth ArmsTamworthAvoid. 1039839124Room was awful! Claustrophobic and grubby. Dirty carpet, blood stained duvet cover, wafer thin mattress and pillows, 2 hangers and 2 hooks for hanging clothes, broken bedside light, unfinished decoration and stained ceiling. Breakfast ok but my husband ordered poached eggs on toast and got fried eggs!We can't comment on the evening meals as we didn't eat there.We booked for two nights and only stayed for one. We contacted the owner by email to discuss this before we wrote this review but they did not reply.

We had a lovely overnight stay. The food was delicious and the service excellent. Every staff member we spoke to was kind and helpful. Our room (No.10) was lovely, nicely decorated, had everything you needed and a huge comfy bed.

The hotel was nice. Room was clean, however the weekend was ruined for me by the differing attitudes of staff. I come from N Ireland which is part of the uk and I use banknotes which are issued by banks there. They are clearly marked sterling but on Friday afternoon the staff (one in particular) refused saying the local post office refused to accept them.I. Went to the local post office and they did accept them. I obtained a receipt and went back and showed it to her but she still refused to accept this. Later that evening after a change of staff they did accept the notes,however on Saturday evening they again refused to take them. This was embarrassing and humiliated me in front of my friends.I had to go and transfer funds to a card and present that.I was over for a weekend of reflection with my friends and this experience totally ruined it.

Would have been brilliant if it wasn’t for the bed

Could have been brilliant but a little bit of a let down. The pub and room were lovely and staff couldn’t have been more polite and friendly. The room was very clean and decorated very nicely. However considering we payed for the more premium room with a large double bed the bed was not very large and an incredibly uncomfortable mattress. It was like sleeping on a bit of plywood and a real shame seeing as everything else was pretty spot on and would have been a 4/5 star review had we slept well.
