Unfortunately we booked

Upon arriving at hotel which look impressive with the lobby and reception etc .. We did ask to upgrade to a suite for the 3 nights we’d booked but none available but was upgraded to “Executive Suite” on 6th floor .. The only thing Executive about it was the coffee machine which we didn’t use , the small sofa in room was filthy, stained and when I lifted the cushion off there was artificial red rose petals and thick dust , also the window sill had a puddle of water that ruined my makeup, and ridiculous that the windows are SCREWED shut with 3 screws large screws so if you need some air remember to pack a posi drive screw driver in your case .. The plug hole in the bathroom was blocked so the water couldn’t run away .. I did manage to get some of the rank hair and scum out of sink so water couldn’t run away eventually run away but the SMELL coming up from the drains was terrible.Eventually after the shock decide it time to sleep .NO CHANCE would have been more comfortable sleeping on the pavement the beds are that hard there is not 1 bit of give and having had Shoulder Surgery weeks ago lead to 3 nights of very painful and disturbing nights .. husband couldn’t sleep either and heard a lot of other guest saying the same for the price of a night you do expect that you should be able to sleep.Our room was very very bad for a normal room but it was laughable that they classed our room as Executive Room with the totally uncomfortable rock hard mattress, dirty screwed up windows and the “lovely sweet smell of blocked drains coming up the plug hole.They only pleasant bit of the stay were the staff , who were very nice If it wasn’t for the fact that we were there for the Budgie Championship and had birds in the show and had driven over 7hours to get there I wanted to go elsewhere..

Pleasant stay.

Location is ok, slightly shabby area but convenient for tram to town centre.Hotel staff very welcoming and friendly, plenty of lifts to use, room was clean and adequate for our needs. Pillows not great, had one very hard one and a very soft one, but managed ok. Sleep quality was good for most of our stay, although on one occasion the wind was howling around outside and did keep us awake.The communal areas are lovely, nice comfy sofas, a nice space.The food was lovely, with quite a good selection.The large bar wasnt open during our stay due to a leak, so they opened a small bar area which was fine, bar staff were pleasant and helpful, as were restaurant staff.We enjoyed our stay and would definately stay here again if we visit Blackpool in future.A nice, value for money break. Cleaning is the main issue

? 1 starVery disappointing stay at the Grand Hotel Blackpool. We stayed for three nights, and our room was not cleaned during our stay. The bedsheets were not changed, and we were not given fresh towels unless we asked. There was also no replacement tea or coffee, and the carpet was not cleaned.I understand that rooms may not be serviced every day, but this was not clearly explained to us when we arrived. For a three-night stay, I expected a much better standard of cleanliness and basic housekeeping.Unfortunately, the room and service did not meet our expectations, and I would not stay here again.
