Great settings, nice facilities, good location Unfortunately after reserving a table at the Pub & Grill no table available. No communication between reception and the restaurant. Very noisy cluster pub & grill full of golfersRooms roomy and comfortable but no shelves or anywhere to place suitcases bags or clothes except the floor

Its been a while since I have stayed in a Village Hotel and it will be a while again. Very disappointed with the standard of cleanliness in this hotel. Check in was the usual automated, robotic checkin, with someone stood there then giving you your key. I never understand this, because if they are going to stand there and help you with the screens and then give you a room key, they may as well as just check you in - much more personal.On arrival whilst checking in, we had to experience a very drunk guest, and albeit not causing problems, it was uncomfortable, not just for us but for the lady at the checkin area. Not a great start.We had booked a Club Room and it was very disappointing, minor things, that may seem trivial, that would have made the whole experience so much better. One pack of biscuits, one can of water, no toilet brush, toilet paper cheaper than cheap, our toilet didnt flush properly and the room didnt smell clean. The bedding smelt like greasy food. The blinds had seen better days. And one thing that really hacks me off is when I book a double room, not a family room and I am given a room with a third bed in it. If we wanted a family room we would have booked a family room. It is a put me up bed at best, so lazy to not move it out. The room did have everything you could need, iron, ironing board, hairdryer, coffee machine, kettle and a large TV screen.Breakfast was shocking - one toaster either wasnt working or not turned on, and the hot food options were absolutely not hot, barely warm, in fact by the time you had put it on your plate and walked to your table it was cold. The bacon, which I would add was high quality, was just not cooked properly, neither were the sausages, they were incipid, yet the scrambled eggs were overcooked. It was just dreadful for the money they charge for this.Very disappointing overall, and we definitely wont be returning

Blackpool - The Village was amazing as I spent a long weekend break located in nice country grounds. The double rooms was big enough for two. However, could do with more seats or seating area and storage for suitcase/s. Ideally, a fridge would be handy expecially as the room seemed rature on the warm side in the evenings and with no air con for the summer months, I can only image how dehydrated one would get.Bathroom was well decorated but no shelves for toileteries let it down somewhat. A stay for 2 included a £50 food voucher to use in the Pub and Grill, unfortunetly it was not explained that voucher needed to be used on the first day so be mindful of this and room service charges that were not specified at the time of booking.Breakfast in the morning was ok, but could be flavoured e.i, scambled eggs more yolked, bacon was a little under cooked, herbs added to tomatoes, mushroom garlic etcNo nuts, seeds or take out fruits in fruit bowl were available to promote healthy eating.Gym, sauna, steam and jacuzzi were amazingly clean and relaxing to use - All member of staff were attentive and helpful throughout stay.The package was well worth our stay.Thankyou all for an amazing experience. Golf course good. Hotel shambolic.

The hotel was extremely warm and uncomfortable. Went for a weekend of golf and i would say the course was nice but nothing else. Pre booked meals for a party of 24 and they did not have the food we ordered. They didnt even have us down as booked. Very poor set up and what food we did get was average at best. The fish on the first night was very small and was basically just batter. I would visit again for the golf course but never for the hotel. The staff are nice and work really hard. I have used this hotel many times but not for a couple of years. The club rooms have had a freshen up. We were supposed to have complimentary water we did not get this and the vending machine was out of water. One of the lifts was off so we had a long walk to our room overlooking the outdoor pool. The food in the bar is very expensive for pub grub on par with Wetherspoons. It took over an hour to get our food. I think the room should have air con we had to leave the window open and it was noisy. They also don’t have a fridge and nowhere to hang up wet towels or a shelf in the shower if you want to use your own toiletries. The breakfast was poor under cooked and cheap ingredients the most awful sloppy scrambled eggs. The door in the bathroom is damaged by water. I think it’s overpriced for what you get.
