    Bad hotel experience

    rating10 Jun 2026

Shocking hotel, filthy and run down. Unfriendly staff. Worn out stained carpets. Terrible food. Uncomfortable beds. We were booked for 5 nights but we only managed to endure 4 nights. The only positive was the pool and that we were always able to park for free. Everything else was bad. Avoid.

    Not worth a quid.

    rating29 May 2026

Stayed at The Carrington House Hotel on 29th May after a late flight into Bournemouth Airport. I was only looking for somewhere to sleep for the night. Instead, I got an immersive survival experience.First challenge: parking. Despite paying for it, there wasn't a space available. A promising start.Upon entering the room, I was immediately greeted by an overwhelming aroma of damp, grime and what I can only assume was decades of poor decisions. The carpet had reached a stage where "colour" was more of a historical reference than a current feature. The windows were filthy, the furniture was peeling, and the overall décor could best be described as "abandoned care home chic."After a long journey, I desperately needed the bathroom. Unfortunately, I wasn't the only guest staying there. A family of beetles had apparently checked in before me and looked quite settled. Needing the loo more than I feared the insect convention, I soldiered on, only to discover there was no soap in the dispenser. The bath was decorated with a lovely layer of soap scum from previous occupants, so there was absolutely no chance of me voluntarily stepping into it.The room was unbearably hot, making sleep difficult. Not that I was planning on getting under the covers anyway. The condition of the room had me so concerned that I slept fully clothed on top of the bed, like a hostage waiting for extraction. To complete the experience, the walls appeared to be made from compressed cardboard. I was treated to every conversation from the room next door without having to pay for the premium package. If you're looking for a night of restlessness, questionable hygiene, unexpected wildlife encounters and an accidental insight into your neighbours' lives, this is the place for you.If, however, you're looking for sleep, cleanliness and basic standards, do yourself a favour and book a Premier Inn. I certainly wish I had.

From Frustration to Fantastic Customer Service

    rating26 May 2026

What could have been a frustrating stay at Carrington House Hotel in Bournemouth was completely turned around by the staff team. The hotel was dealing with a difficult overbooking situation when I first arrived, but Claudia and Dulce handled it with calmness, professionalism and genuine kindness despite being under obvious pressure.Although I couldn’t stay that first night, Abs helped organise an early check-in when I later booked directly and was incredibly supportive throughout. Wes also deserves a special mention — from helping resolve a breakfast issue with real care and professionalism, to simply being consistently welcoming and friendly at the bar and around the hotel. There was also an issue with noise from an external fan outside my original room, but Claudia immediately stepped in and moved me to a much quieter, lovely room after hearing I hadn’t slept properly. What stood out most was how the team consistently turned difficult moments into positive ones through thoughtful customer service and genuine care for guests. Staff really do make the difference, and this team were a credit to the hotel.Thank you Claudia, Dulce, Abs and Wes

    AWFUL ALL ROUND

    rating22 May 2026

Absolutely disgusted with our stay at Carrington House Hotel in Bournemouth. If you want to boil alive in a place with no air conditioning and no fans, then this is the place for you. The heat in the room was unbearable and when we politely asked reception for a fan, the woman rolled her eyes and said, “we will drop a fan off to you, if there is one.” To make matters worse, the whole place smelt of marijuana and the man behind the bar repeatedly came back to serve us after clearly smoking it. Completely unprofessional and uncomfortable. When we got to our room there was wee still left in the toilet, the bath was dirty, there was an iron burn mark on the carpet, only one light in the room worked, the tv didn’t work and the beds were unbelievably uncomfortable. The entire room felt dirty and poorly maintained. The service throughout our stay was shocking and the staff were rude and dismissive. I am honestly disgusted that we paid £230 for one night in a hotel that can’t even provide basic cleanliness, decent customer service, or something as simple as a fan in hot weather.Lately, the entertainment tried his best - wasn’t great but the best entertainment was when the 4 police men barged through to arrest somebody. This absolutely summed up the place to us. Would never return and would absolutely not recommend to anyone
