  Had a really nice stay here I booked the the Bluetiful room on the ground floor, the room is really nicely decorated and was immaculately clean and the bed was comfortable. It was quiet and I had a really good nights sleep would recommend and will definitely re-book if I was in the area. 5 stars !!

  Ben and Layla helped us out last minute with a pickle before our friends wedding where we needed a room very last minute as a result of a mishap with the hotel we had originally booked. The responsiveness and flexibility was hugely appreciated! Would recommend to anyone!

  If Carlsberg did hotels …… it definitely would not be this one! Stayed here as convenient for local concert but the noise inside the hotel was louder than the gig. I didn’t feel safe staying here either, the area has an interesting choice of people on the street day and night. And anyone can be in the hotel as there is no security, you check in yourself and people let others in. The only good thing is the price, it’s cheap but you get what you pay for. The Strand, Owner at The Strand Hotel, responded to this review I'm not going to spend too much time in replying to your review as you did not stay at this hotel! However I would like to mention, that giving a more flexible check-in to our gusts with our new self entry check in system (which is proving to be very popular with our guests so far) myself and/or my husband are indeed on site - each and every day, along with our small team of house keepers, but you would have known this had you have stayed! The people that have stayed have all been lovely, and no comments about anyone else? and of course we cannot comment on the general public, who are not our guests. This hotel is an extremely quiet space, or ''calm'' as one guest put it! but again you would know that yourself had you have stayed!

  Stayed at the Strand 11 to 15 June 24. It is clean, comfortable and a quiet guest house . Being honest for the price, what you get is fair . I didn’t see or have any people harassing us day or night, after all said it’s a base and for somewhere to sleep. If you’re looking for a bar or restaurant they’re five minutes away .   Be careful. This has changed ownership. What was a lovely little budget hotel now is trying to be something posh …… but it’s in Boscombe. Boscombe is an awful area. In fact there are drug dealers and prostitution outside and I think inside the hotel. Avoid and go to much nicer places in Bournemouth. The hotel used to friendly and clean and lovely owners who helped keep you safe around the hotel but not now The Strand, Owner at The Strand Hotel, responded to this review Hi there, I honestly couldn't decide to respond to your awfully negative review, or simply report it! I however did not want to give up the opportunity for you to see my reply...I am sorry that you think renovating and updating a tired small hotel is a bad idea, what an AWFUL thing for us to do for our guests..! The prices have remained the same, despite putting brand new mattresses in the rooms and creating a much more luxurious space, again, at the SAME budget prices as before...I cannot comment to what you THINK you may have seen outside the property, but I can assure you there are no prostitutes in the building, LOL! As the (proud) new owner of The Strand Hotel, we shall continue to modernise this hotel, and every detail, from the decor to the amenities, will be thoughtfully chosen to ensure comfort and satisfaction for our guests. Despite the renovations that are taking place, we are committed to preserving the hotel’s charm while simply wanting to enhance its beauty and rejuvenate the space.As I bring my reply to a close, I think its fair to say, that our hotel is not for you.
