This historic hotel enjoys a convenient location, just off junction 17 of the M5. The charming country residence is surrounded by historical landmarks, including Blaise Castle and Tower Hamlet; both of which can be reached in just 2 min on foot. Facility

The hotel was built in 1700. 21 non-smoking rooms are available to guests in a 3-storey main building and a 2-storey auxiliary building. The reception desk is open round the clock. Amenities available at the hotel include a cloakroom, a baggage storage service and a safe. Wireless internet access in public areas allows guests to stay connected. Very comfortable hotel with extremely friendly staff. Some areas are “faded elegance” and the car park is very tight. The breakfast was good and I would stay again.

We were impressed with the lovely room, pleasant welcome and good breakfast.We had booked a twin room with breakfast for 2 people for one night as we were attending a family funeral in Bristol.All was good until I came to check out when a rather rude and off hand receptionist told me I owed £29 for 2 cooked breakfasts. I explained I had booked via the Trip App and showed her the booking confirmation which clearly stated that breakfast for 2 was included. She still insisted that I owed £29 so I asked to see the manager - after a while he appeared and even he still had the cheek to question my booking rather than immediately accepting that breakfast had already been paid for as shown on the booking confirmation.I stuck to my guns and refused to pay, but sadly we arrived late to the funeral.Unacceptable- I won’t use this hotel again As a consequence we were late Best Western Henbury Lodge, Owner at Best Western Henbury Lodge Hotel, responded to this review Dear Steven,Thank you for your both reviews and I am glad that your overall experience was positive as indicated in your first review.Concerning your second review about breakfast. When booking came to us through a third party, some information is usually missing, breakfast was not included in your package as to your third-party booking. However, when you checked in, you spoke to a member of staff about breakfast as part of your package, she forgot to inform the next person. As your booking did not come direct to us with a breakfast package the other member of staff dealing with it flagged breakfast to be paid for. When you were checking out in the morning, this was brought to your attention by the staff in the morning and you told her that your package included breakfast - she was confused as this was not on our system from your third-party booking. She came to get my attention as her manager - I looked at what happened and said that, on our system you should pay for breakfast and you showed me your booking confirmation from a third party on your phone and I said sorry the confusion is because we didn't get the full information from the third party and I apologised for asking you to pay. The whole conversation was less than 5 minutes. No one was rude to you or forced you to pay - if our interaction with you felt like that, I'm sorry that was not the intention. To avoid this kind of situation, we always encourage guests to book directly with us in future. Also we are sorry about your loss.Hope to see you in future Best wishes,Manager

Easy to find just a short distance from motorway, staff were excellent and always seems to have a smile. My room was clean and warm better than home. Noise from the road at the front but stayed at the back and was fine. Lovely little hotel really.

We got married in the church near the hotel, so all of our family, along with us spent the weekend staying at the Henbury Lodge Hotel. The staff were friendly and made everyone feel so welcome. None of our requests were too much and we were made to feel very welcome. Lovely breakfast too! We would recommend to anyone. All of our family agreed.

Positives - Good location, free parking & friendly helpful staffNegatives - Whole building appears very tired and dated & there was a fusty smell as soon as we entered the front door. The room we stayed in was clean & spacious but very dark & in need of a lot of TLC (broken mirror, lighbulbs blown and not replaced, curtains hanging off & tie backs broken, dated & dark decor), see photos. No WiFi as advertised & the restaurant is closed for evening meals on a weekend.Overall would not recommend.
