    Budget Friendly with Premium Feel

    rating10 Jun 2026

Really impressed considering it's a Holiday Inn. The room was functional and comfy with air conditioning. Shower over bath as opposed to walk-in but there was an adjustable shower head. Lighting in the bathroom was not ideal for makeup application and there wasn't a shaving mirror, but that's not necessarily expected in a budget-friendly hotel. The restaurant for breakfast offered a good selection and they were happy to make poached eggs on request. If I'm visiting our offices again I wouldn't hesitate to stay again. The staff were all wonderfully helpful and friendly.

Did Exactly What It Said On The Tin

    rating06 Jun 2026

I stayed for one night in May during a gathering of old friends.Entrance a little hidden by overgrown foliage - this could be improved.Just enough chargeable car parking spaces.Friendly, efficient staff throughout.Room & bathroom as to be expected, clean, well equipped and comfortable. Some road noise from the nearby dual carriageway - other rooms face the adjacent pub car park, so maybe 6 & two threes re room location choice.Despite what appeared to be a full house at the weekend, the hot/cold breakfast buffet worked quite well, with dishes being replenished as necessary.Decent food at decent prices at the adjacent pub/restaurant which shares the car park. Hotel Manager Manager, Owner at Holiday Inn Express Bristol - Filton By IHG, responded to this review Hi JoeCBansteadUK, thanks for the review. We are pleased to hear that you found the stay met your expectations overall, with friendly and efficient service, a clean and comfortable room, and a breakfast experience that worked well even during a busy weekend. It is also good to know that nearby dining options added convenience to your visit. We appreciate your comment regarding the hotel entrance, as first impressions are important, and we are grateful that you took the time to share your experience. We hope to welcome you again in the future. All the best, Francesca - Hotel Manager

    3 star? Underrated!

    rating26 May 2026

The hotel, staff, breakfast, and overall were excellent. Had a couple of issues checking in,(all my fault ( which were sorted immediately by reception. The rooms (we had 3), were clean and well equipped. After a good night sleep, we went down for Breakfast, we had a dog with us, and the 2 members of staff on duty went out of their way to seat us . Considering the breakfast is included, you could not fault it.It wasn't a one off, because we stayed 2 nights and day 2 was equally as good. Three people stood out, the lady at reception for her patience, and particularly Freya, and Anastasia at Breakfast, for their efficiency, and genuine friendliness. Hotel Manager Manager, Owner at Holiday Inn Express Bristol - Filton By IHG, responded to this review Hi Roger B, thanks for the review. We are delighted to hear that you found the hotel, the overall stay, and the breakfast to be of such a high standard, and that the rooms were clean, comfortable, and well equipped. It is especially pleasing to know that the team were able to resolve the check‑in matters quickly and that you felt well looked after throughout your stay. We are also glad that breakfast remained a positive experience across both mornings, including the warm and accommodating approach shown when dining with your dog. Your kind comments about the friendliness, patience, and efficiency of the team are greatly appreciated. We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back again in the future. All the best, Francesca - Hotel Manager

    Wait staff is amazing

    rating07 May 2026

The staff make all the differenceHaving spent the last 4 nights here there are some good points and badThe bad is it needs a redesign, a hotel of this size and 1 tiny lift. The rooms are clean but needs updating. Breakfast considering its including is ok but could do with better quality stock. The croissants you could knock nails in. The depending on who mixes the orange its so strong or like water. Your microwave area is a nice touch and well used, we had to wait 45mins in a queue to use. Love a second. But the best thing is the staff. Expecially the mornjng breakfast staff. I didnt catch her name but so friendly and happy in her work. Its a bit much for some people but I like it but bit of a shock first morning Hotel Manager Manager, Owner at Holiday Inn Express Bristol - Filton By IHG, responded to this review Hi ankersandrew, thanks for the review. We appreciate your balanced and thoughtful comments following your stay. It is especially encouraging to hear that the team made such a positive impression, particularly the breakfast staff, whose friendly and upbeat approach clearly stood out and helped make a difference to your experience. We acknowledge your observations regarding the condition and layout of the hotel, including lift capacity, room presentation, and breakfast quality and variety. We understand how these aspects can impact comfort, especially over a longer stay. Your comments about breakfast consistency, crowding, and facilities are noted, as is your feedback regarding shared amenities and waiting times. We are grateful for your kind words about the staff, who you recognised as working hard despite the challenges, and we thank you for choosing to stay with us and for sharing your experience so openly. We hope to welcome you back again. All the best, Francesca - Hotel Manager

    Not the best

    rating28 Apr 2026

When we booked in the first thing we were told was parking is extra! Not impressed at all that's a con, an easy target for making money. We were told breakfast will be a problem as there will be 2 coaches with rugby fans staying the night. The Aircon/heating system was very noisy all night.Yes the coaches turned up and one of them, directly beside our bedroom window. The driver started the engine at 08:00 and switched it off at 08:30 before eventually driving off at 10:30!!!The staff were right no food or coffee left after 09:00. Then the staff were hoovering around us as we sat with toast. We checked out a day early through lack of sleep and being knackered only to be told when we explained the reason "yes! That's ok you can go".Most Holiday inns are great and we have no problems but this one wasn't too great at all but a good location Hotel Manager Manager, Owner at Holiday Inn Express Bristol - Filton By IHG, responded to this review Hi V369SXkevinm, thanks for the review. We regret that your stay did not meet expectations, particularly in relation to the parking charges, overnight noise, disruption from coaches, the comfort of the room, and the breakfast experience during a busy period. We understand how frustrating and tiring this would have been, especially given the lack of rest and the decision to check out early, and we appreciate you taking the time to share your experience while also acknowledging the positive aspect of the location. Please reach out to us at manager@expressbristol.co.uk so we can discuss this further. All the best, Francesca - Hotel Manager
