    BEWARE OF THE SWIMMING POOL

    rating22 Sept 2025

Just spent a week at this hotel and unfortunately the weather was very poor so we were disappointed. We had already requested a room overlooking the garden on the first floor which was pleasant but needed decorating due to marks on the wall and scuffed paintwork. The built-in wardrobe was not good as the door couldn't be opened as it clashed with the room door hardware and usually crashed back making an awful din. Luckily the weather was not hot as the window in the room was limited. For part of the holiday we had someone staying above us and the creaking floorboards were not good. On a plus side everything was clean. The full English breakfast was very good and always served with a smile from the staff. We only had two dinners in the restaurant. The food was OK but not outstanding for the amount paid. The staff once again made it.We did have a take-a-way delivered to Beausite from the Pizza Quarter in Gorey which was delicious and then unfortunately we saw the sign that we shouldn't have done that as only food purchased from the hotel was allowed to be eaten! Not to be beaten we visited the pizza establishment and had a second perfect meal. We did visit the Pembroke which was over the road but found it a bit gloomy and seating uncomfortable so we didn't book the restaurant. We originally booked the Beausite because of the indoor pool. We swim twice a week at home so are used to walking round the edge of a pool. The night before we were due to leave we decided to have our third swim of the week. That was when our holiday ended in disaster. We had had a nice swim and sat out at the side of the pool relaxing for awhile. We made our way to the "changing room", a spacious toilet with a door that doesn't lock. The tiles just before slope a tiny bit but they are very, very slippy as we had noticed before. There are a patch of grey ones that are different to the blue. My husband had gone ahead of me. I slipped very badly, went down on my back , my toes on my left foot bent backwards underneath. I did manage to get back up but was in agony. The lady on reception offered to get us a taxi to A & E. Turned that down as I thought if I had broken anything it might stop me getting home the next day. She did give us a bag of ice but that ended up wetting our bed.Went straight to hospital once home. Luckily no bones broken but have ligament damage which could take 4-6 weeks to mend and a bruised coccyx. In my seventies this is not good. I want to warn any visitors to the Beausite to go very, very steady walking round the pool. The tiles are not all the same and some are treacherous. We did have a room booked at St Aubin for next year which we have now cancelled. We realise that if you take away the good weather from Jersey there is really nothing much to do. We had walked alongside the golf course into Gorey and along the promenade the other way towards the Seymour tower but we ended up going on the beach and up a slipway to get back onto the road. This road is a bit of a nightmare due to lack of pavements. Please, please be careful near that pool folks, it has ruined our holiday and I suspect the next few weeks.

Staff on reception very helpful and welcoming, restaurant excellent, had several evening meals here which were so good. Marvellous

    rating01 Sept 2025

Really loved the Beausite. The room was spacious and warm and very clean. Comfy bed. The staff very pleasant and professional. The evening meals very nice. Hop on a bus to St.Heliers and a beautiful beach just over the golf course ten mins walk away. My only disappointment was it was my husbands birthday and I asked receptionist if they did anything in the restaurant and she said leave it to us wink wink and nothing happened! But apart from that had a thoroughly enjoyable stay. Beausite Hotel, General Manager at The Beausite Hotel, responded to this review Thank you for choosing to stay with us and for taking the time to write the review. Please accept our apologies for the oversight fr not marking your husbands birthday, we do hope to welcome you back in the future.

First visit to the Beausite Hotel

    rating22 Aug 2025

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Beausite Hotel, it was a last minute booking with Easyjet, we looked at a few hotels and we were so pleased we chose the Beausite. The breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice of cereals, fruit, juices etc and the freshly cooked English breakfast was excellent, my husband chose the kippers 3 days out of 4 and loved them. We also enjoyed the evening meals, well presented and beautifully cooked. As other reviewers have mentioned, the staff in the hotel are very good, all are attentive. We would especially like to mention Diana who looked after us every afternoon with our 'butterfly' wine on the terrace. The hotel is in a great location with a bus stop opposite, which has frequent services into St Helier and we also walked to Gorey village which was well worth a visit. We look forward to returning to the Beausite and would thoroughly recommend. Beausite Hotel I highly recommend!

    rating19 Aug 2025

My family stayed at the beausite recently. What a lovely hotel ! It's bit dated but well looked after and very clean. The staff are so friendly and interacted with my young Daughter Alice so nicely. (Special mention to Diane and Jake) The rooms are clean, functional and comfortable . The breakfast was fantastic and the evening meals pretty decent too. We ate in three times. The location is perfect as it's not right in the centre . St Helier is about 30 mins away on a regular bus service. Gorey Pier is a very sort bus ride away or about a 20-25 minute walk. There is a lovely private courtyard grassed garden with sun loungers and tables . The only negative is that the place does need air-con. We would 100% stay here again. Thank you to all the staff who made our stay so memorable! xx Beausite Hotel, General Manager at The Beausite Hotel, responded to this review Thank you for recommending us and we are delighted that your stay in Jersey has been a memorable one, we do hope to welcome you back.
