    Disappointing Sunday Lunch

    rating06 May 2026

Whilst staying in the area we decided to call in for Sunday lunch. The place was quite busy but we were able to get a table. We ordered the roast dinners, chicken and the beef. Unfortunately neither were of a good standard. The beef was tasteless, it came with overcooked vegtables and a horrible sweet gravy. As for the chicken, this was a pre formed small stuffed portion also served with overcooked vegtables and that discusting sweet gravy. Although the atmosphere was fine, the roasts were not up to a desent standard as you might expect for such an establishment.

Nice, but it could be better.

Lovely place that has different dining areas. Unfortunately, only the main one has character and atmosphere for dining. Therefore, take this into account when booking. For us, the menu was limited choice. However, the food was good.Service is quite slow.Prices are top end for a restaurant/pub environment.

    Wonderful Christmas

    rating30 Dec 2025

We stayed for 3 nights over Christmas and it was excellent. Spotless room, delicious food, fabulous, friendly staff. Couldn't beat it & we look forward to doing it all again at Christmas in 2026. Thanks so much to Jane & all her team. Mark, Wendy, Suzie & Bertie from Bangor. xx

    Unwelcoming experience

    rating23 Dec 2025

The service was absolutely appalling. Since this was our first time here the attitude we were given because of not knowing where to go was shocking. When the mains came out they were nothing special and the plates were trying to be taken away when it was clear someone was still eating. After pointing this out, the faces and little to no conversation was given. Staff need to give themselves a shake, never again.
