    Went for Sunday lunch with my husband and sisters. Roast was absolutely delicious. Unfortunately they had no horseradish sauce which is a must for all of us with beef. It's akin to having turkey without cranberry, sort this out kitchen please🙏 We had a little dispute about paying full price for instant coffee, as coffee machine was broken. Riordan came to the rescue, what a wonderful personality absolutely brilliant handling of the situation, totally charming young man. Angels Share should hold onto this staff member for all they are worth! Will will return, thank you. Ciara

    If I could have rated 0 I would , we went to the bar of this hotel for a drink after a long busy day we stood at the bar waiting to be served there was one bar person on and two sets of customers at tables we we’re ignored not any acknowledgment from the girl behind the bar who was not serving , no “ I’ll be with you shortly “ nothing A couple at a table called out and she went to them walking past us with no recognition at all Consequently we walked out disappoint about the lack of customer service to a more friendlier and atmospheric bar across the road , absolutely disrespectful never have I received such service , the owners need to send their staff on customer service training

    Was in the bar today at 1pm four customers were in and seated. My husband stood at the bar for five minutes and the member of staff that was present stayed at the other end of the bar and completely ignored us. We left…… this is a favourite bar of ours, sadly we won’t be back and they obviously don’t need the business!

    Good location , within 20 minutes walk from all areas of Edinburgh . My room very dull, walls dull cream needs a clean needs a bit of paint updating . Felt like I was stuck in some spare room, out of the way. Room overlooked other windows and I could see straight into next door , full view of people laying in their double bed. Kept curtains closed during my visit of 3 days. No small side lights for at night , had to have full bright ceiling light on. Bed very comfy , slept well. First morning down to breakfast, staff said it was cancelled as chef was sick. No offer of a coffee , orange juice or pastries?? Had to find breakfast and pay out elsewhere.Next morning breakfast was exceptional , really enjoyed it. Staff friendly. Last morning I ordered a brioche as thought it would be quick to eat as had to get a train a bit later. Waited 30 minutes , still no breakfast. I told staff I had to go as I needed to get to the station. In all, staff friendly , location ideal. Bar area , looks nice , quite expensive . Didn't drink there . Areas of hotel need a spring clean and painting, passageways and my room .
