    The hotel lobby area and grounds are fantastic , full of charm and history, however for nearly £200 a night for a room the size of a shed is outrageous, the room and bathroom is tiny and very tired looking, carpets worn and the breakfast / dinners , just OK..I do believe they said from maintenance that the rooms will be undergoing renovation, which is good news but the prices they charge in its current state is not, I would stay elsewhere and maybe revisit in 6 months or so.

    Fantastic hotel in a beautiful location. The Hearth Restuarant for dinner was a real disappointment. The menu did not accurately reflect the dishes we were served. Very casual attitude about this. Food was not worth the prices charged. 😕

    One Night StayRates/Value For Money: Excellent great price as Out of SeasonAmbience: Simply superbRoom was on ground floor with view onto Woodlands,room had very comfortable double bed, blackout curtains, Water,good pressure shower and room temperature The Highlight for me was The Library, it was glorious,amazing selection of books,masses of Folio Society editions,deep comfortable seats,good lighting and quiet Drinks brought to the table by staffStaff good ,unobtrusive and friendly.Highly recommended.

    Booked for 1 night using a hotels voucher which I’d received as a birthday gift. Honestly wish we had booked for longer but will definitely return. Lovely furnished room and en-suite facilities with bath & shower. Booked to dine in the Hearth restaurant which was a very intimate setting stunning menu and beautifully presented food only took 1 photograph of my main course which was the saddle of lamb truly delicious instead by of a dessert I chose an espresso martini which was the best I had ever had. The staff were very attentive, polite and smartly dressed and very chatty. The breakfast is buffet style which was nice. Lovely welcoming at reception when we arrived too. Can’t wait to return. Wish I lived near would love to work somewhere like this.
