  Disappointing experience despite the convenient location

  I have stayed in student accommodation before (for example, in Milan) and the facilities there were comparable to a 5-star hotel despite the very low price. Because I had such a positive experience in the past, my first thought was to look for student accommodation in Edinburgh as well. I also had commitments in the area, which made me choose this property.Unfortunately, the experience here was completely different from what I had expected. The room was extremely dirty and outdated, with filthy carpets that looked like they had not been cleaned in years. The smell in the room was absolutely dreadful and unbearable!!!!!! In fact, I had to sleep with the window open all night despite the cold weather because the odor was so STRONG.The floors were incredibly dirty — my socks were literally sticking to them as I walked around the room. It was genuinely disgusting and made me feel uncomfortable throughout my stay..In hindsight, I should have requested a different room, but from what I could see, the issue seemed to be with the overall standard of the accommodation rather than a single room. I honestly got the impression that all the rooms were in a similar condition.The hotel urgently needs a proper renovation. While the prices may be low, that should never be an excuse for poor cleanliness and unacceptable living conditions. Basic hygiene standards should be met regardless of the price point.The staff was the only positive aspect of my stay. They were friendly, welcoming and helpful throughout and they did their best despite the poor condition of the property.Overall, this was a very disappointing experience and far below the standard I expected based on my previous experiences with student accommodation. I would not stay here again unless significant renovations and improvements are made.

  I was there for only four days, traveling alone and it was a very comfortable option, the bathroom was clean, the kitchen was equipped which is great, the staff was also very kind

  It was a good stay, the five separate bedrooms with en-suites in a private flat was perfect for us. The mattresses were like cardboard and the kitchen smelled of wotsits. Perfect location, loads of cute restaurants, bars and coffee places. 2x tram stops from the centre of Edinburgh.

  Staff was very friendly, but the rooms were small. I wouldn't recommend staying in the room unless you have either a small child or leprechaun staying with you.Kitchen was very good! Location was great!!! Check in process was absolutely horrible. They are moving to a online check in process in an effort to move away from having staff on hand who were absolutely pleasant.
