Location

This luxurious city hotel is located on George Street at the heart of the city. A diverse selection of shopping venues, theatres and many of Edinburgh's top sights such as the castle, Holyrood Palace, Princes Street Gardens, Dynamic Earth, the Royal Mile and the seat of the Scottish parliament are to be found within walking distance of the hotel. St. Andrew's Square and Waverly train station lie approximately 5 minutes' walk away and it is about 500 m to the nearest links to the public transport network. Edinburgh Airport is 13 km away.

Facility

The hotel was built in 1795. 249 rooms, including 2 suites, 9 single rooms and 186 double rooms, are located on 7 storeys and can be reached by lift. The reception desk is open round the clock. Amenities include a baggage storage service, safe, currency exchange service and drinks machine. Wireless internet access in public areas allows guests to stay connected.     Incredible experience, the wonderful staff will put a smile on your face and help you in anyway needed. Beautiful room, and did not need to ask for anything. I felt so valued and appreciated.     The George was excellent and Concierge Jaime Wood was Superb.

    The entire experience at the The George was excellent. The concierge, Jaime Wood was especially helpful. Our luggage was misplaced by the airline and Jaime went out of his way to help us retrieve it. He was incredibly patient with us. We would probably still be waitig for it if for Jaime's help.     Great location, but very small bathroom for a 5 star hotel

    We were a little disappointed in this claimed 5 star hotel. The location is excellent, but our TV did not work. Our booking was for a premium king, but really had two twins pushed together with a crack in the middle. (Apparently this is common in Europe). And our bathroom was very, very small.     Location is great, the staff is awesome and a very good breakfast. The downside is the noise (laundry truck at 5:30-6am) other room noise and the a/c. Hotel could use a refresh, dirty carpets/walls especially in halls and stairwells.
