    5-star for everything

    rating15 Jun 2026

As Marriott Bonvoy Titanium Elite members, we thoroughly enjoyed our recent stay at the Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa Edinburgh. The whole team were incredibly welcoming and attentive, with special thanks to Nicola and Anya for their outstanding customer service throughout our visit. Every part of the hotel felt modern, well maintained and our room is spotlessly clean.Club Lounge was a lovely bonus. The lounge team were always warm, friendly and approachable, and the breakfast buffet offered an impressive range of options to suit every taste.Unfortunately, we did not have time to try the swimming pool on this occasion, but we will definitely make sure to do so next time.We travel to Edinburgh frequently for business, and we have already rebooked a couple of nights. We very much look forward to returning soon.Dr. Tong W

Fantastic, modern and spotless hotel with outstanding service

    rating14 Jun 2026

I wasn't sure about this hotel as I always stayed on the Royal mile. It was an outstanding choice. Rooms were very large. Everything was totally spotless and clean and modern. Restaurants were very good. The M lounge was the nicest one I've ever been to anywhere in the world. Throughout my travels that week, the Sheraton was the only one that acknowledged my status with Marriott Bonvoy which I greatly appreciated. The front desk was also wonderful to deal with at check-in and check out.We had two rooms and both were equally as nice. Adam and Wayne at the front lobby were wonderful to work with. No matter what you wanted, they could lead you to it. Including getting drivers within minutes bso friendly.Location was the only thing I originally was worried about. only since I had never stayed at that end of the city before Absolutely nothing to worry about. It is very walkable to anywhere in the city!!! Would highly recommend and will definitely return.

    Room with no view!!

    rating09 Jun 2026

I stayed at the Sheraton Grand Edinburgh for one night in April 2026 and unfortunately left disappointed. As a Marriott Bonvoy Ambassador Elite member, I used a Suite Night Award and was hoping for a memorable stay, particularly with a castle-facing room. My upgrade request was approved, but the "suite" turned out to be two connected rooms rather than a traditional suite. While the rooms were clean, spacious, and well maintained, the view was extremely disappointing. Instead of the iconic Edinburgh Castle or city views, the room faced another building just a few feet away, making it feel like we were looking at a wall. After checking into the room, I requested a room change and specifically asked whether a castle-facing room was available. The request was denied, with the explanation that no such rooms were available. However, I was later able to see castle-view room types available through the Marriott Bonvoy app, which made the situation difficult to understand. One positive aspect of the stay was the club lounge. The lounge itself was comfortable and provided a pleasant space to relax. However, the food selection was quite limited and fell short of what I have experienced at other Sheraton and Marriott properties. The offerings were adequate for light refreshments but lacked variety. The hotel itself is in a convenient location, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. Unfortunately, the service experience did not match the quality of the physical property. Most interactions at the front desk felt transactional rather than welcoming, and there seemed to be limited flexibility in addressing guest concerns. As an Ambassador Elite member, I expected a higher level of hospitality and recognition.Edinburgh is a wonderful city, but based on my experience and overall service, this is not a property I would choose again. There are many excellent Marriott properties around that do a far better job and delivering a memorable stay Nicola Hasler, Guest Services / Front Office at Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa, Edinburgh, responded to this review Dear Srib155,Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback following your stay. I am sorry to learn that your experience did not meet expectations, particularly as a valued Ambassador Elite member. We always aim to provide our most loyal guests with the best available upgrades. In your case, the Family Room, which is comprised of two interconnecting rooms, was selected as one of your Nightly Upgrade Award preferences and allocated automatically by our system. I appreciate this may not have aligned with your expectations of a traditional suite. During your stay, we were operating at very high occupancy, which limited availability for alternative room types. While castle-view rooms may at times appear online, this does not always reflect live availability for assignment, and I apologise for the confusion this caused. Thank you also for your feedback regarding the lounge and service experience, which we have shared internally for review. We truly value your loyalty and hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back for a more memorable stay in the future. Kind regards,Nicola HaslerDuty Manager

My sister and I had a fantastic day at the spa. I’d like to mention especially the 80 minute full body massage I received from Anna, which left me feeling so calm, relaxed and cared for. I have a health condition and she was able to tailor the treatment exactly to my needs, I was impressed and grateful. 5 star experience

    rating26 May 2026

Just returned from a fabulous stay at the Sheraton Grand. Went with a friend for a little girls trip. We had booked one of the signature rooms with the access to the lounge. On arrival we were immediately greeted by a member of staff who took our luggage from our taxi and walked us to reception, such a lovely warm welcome. We actually arrived early around 11am so expected to leave luggage and head out but our room was actually ready straight away which was a lovely suprise so we headed straight up to drop our luggage in. We had a twin room with castle view and it was perfect, big comfy beds, soft fluffy robes, immaculate clean, lovely bathroom and plenty of space for 2 women getting ready. After we had spent a day out and about in Edinburgh we stopped into the lounge on our way back to our room, had a lovely glass of wine and enjoyed some of the complimentary buffet items. We had booked the twilight spa in the hotel for the evening so got into our robes and headed there. Lovely relaxed experience, not over crowded and we loved the rooftop pool area the best. Perfect to unwind. When we got back to our room there was a lovely card and cake left for my friend who was celebrating her birthday, a really nice touch. We slept incredibly well, slightly too soft pillows but aside from that it was perfect. The following morning we had our breakfast in the lounge again and what a lovely experience, so chilled, no fight for seats, just endless space and peace. As 2 mums who left their kids at home for a night it was a real treat :-) Also the choice in breakfast was really good, particularly loved the porridge and the haggis and thanks to the way its served in skillet type pans it meant it all remained perfectly hot. Can honestly say from the moment we arrived to the second we left we felt like we had a 5 star experience. I am aiming to return with my family in a couple of months and will opt for the signature room again as the lounge area was so worthit and my daughter will absolutely love the big swimming pool. Fabulous staff, fabulous hotel. Perfection Ryan Chung, Guest Services / Front Office at Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa, Edinburgh, responded to this review Dear dol_trouble,Thank you so much for sharing such a detailed and heartwarming review! We’re absolutely delighted to hear that you and your friend had such a fabulous girls’ getaway with us. It’s wonderful to know that your experience started with a warm welcome and that your early arrival and room readiness made things even more enjoyable right from the beginning. We’re thrilled that you loved your signature room and the castle view — it certainly makes for a special stay. It’s also fantastic to hear that the lounge access was a highlight, from the relaxed atmosphere to the food and drinks offering. Your kind words about the breakfast, especially the porridge and haggis (served just right!), will mean a lot to our team. We’re so pleased you were able to fully unwind in the spa and that the rooftop pool stood out as a favourite — it really is a special place to relax.
