Gist of experience.. won't be back

    rating30 Apr 2026

Afternoon tea, birthday voucher. Haven't had a poor experience of afternoon teas until this placet. Cracked cup, replaced with another cracked cup. Place wasn't busy and yet inattentive. My mum knows her bread and scones and said sandwiches were made from bread which had been frozen beforehand, scones likewise. Apparently if you go online you can preorder sandwich selection.. if you are unaware you're left with no choice but what's put down in front of you. Salmon I don't like, ham I don't like, mums left hers cos couldn't eat. Rajat Bhatia, General Manager at Doubletree By Hilton Edinburgh - Queensferry Crossing, responded to this review Dear Katherine,Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback following your recent afternoon tea experience with us.I am very sorry to read that your visit did not meet expectations, particularly as it was to celebrate a birthday. This is certainly not the standard of quality or service we aim to provide, and I sincerely apologise for the disappointment caused.Your comments regarding the cracked crockery are especially concerning, and I appreciate you bringing this to our attention. This should never have occurred, and I will be addressing this with the team to ensure greater care and attention moving forward. I am also sorry to hear that the service felt inattentive despite the venue not being busy.In addition, your feedback regarding the quality and selection of the sandwiches and scones is taken very seriously. Afternoon tea should be an enjoyable and memorable experience, and it is clear we fell short on this occasion. Thank you again for your feedback, it is invaluable in helping us improve.

I had a great stay at the DoubleTree by Hilton Queensferry. The staff were welcoming, and the warm cookie on arrival is always a nice touch.Special thanks to Victoria and Kirsty on the front desk—they were friendly, helpful and really made the stay! The room was clean and comfortable with a great night’s sleep. The views of the Forth bridges were picturesque, perfect for anyone who is into photography. Breakfast was fresh with a good selection too.Overall, a really pleasant stay Rajat Bhatia, General Manager at Doubletree By Hilton Edinburgh - Queensferry Crossing, responded to this review Dear Finn, Thank you for taking the time to share such a wonderful review following your recent stay with us at DoubleTree by Hilton Queensferry.I’m delighted to hear that you had a relaxing and enjoyable visit, and that our team made you feel so welcome from the moment you arrived, especially with our signature warm cookie. Faultless experience... thoroughly recommended.

    rating14 Apr 2026

Having driven past this hotel so many times (you can't miss it as it is perched up on the cliff between the Queensferry Crossing and the old Forth Road Bridge) I'd always wanted to give it a try. Stayed for the weekend upon return from a holiday in the USA so we turned up late morning and badly jetlagged but thankfully we were allowed to check in and get to our room early so we could get some shut-eye..... All the receptionists we spoke to were lovely and the public areas are kept to a very high standard. Ate in The Shore restaurant (reviewed separately) and it was fantastic. As a Hilton Honours Gold we got upgraded to Room 549 in the north block of the hotel which has the spectacular panoramic view of all three Forth Bridges you see in the photos. The hotel is split into two sections....the south part is close to the function suites and this hotel IS a popular wedding venue, so if you are staying on a weekend expect this to be going on with loud music until midnight, although it would appear they try and give non-function guests a room at the north end away from the noise. Room was spotlessly clean and all facilities (bathroom, bed etc) were hard to fault.Location wise although it is across the water in Fife public transport connectivity with Edinburgh is excellent thanks to the buses that go past regularly which have exclusive use of the old bridge. There is a short path to the bus stops but to get to the Edinburgh bound side you do have to go down and back up a steep and long set of stairs underneath the bridge approach ramp. Parking is free if you are a hotel guest you just have to register your car as soon as you check in. Overall we were delighted with this property and it's one of those places I feel we could do a stay there just for the sake of it, it does have a "destination hotel" feel to it rather than just being somewhere to lay your head for the night. Puts that other DoubleTree at Edinburgh Airport to shame..... Rajat Bhatia, General Manager at Doubletree By Hilton Edinburgh - Queensferry Crossing, responded to this review Dear Kevin,Thank you very much for taking the time to share such a detailed and thoughtful review of your recent stay with us.I am absolutely delighted to read that your experience was so positive, especially after your long journey from the USA. It’s great to know that our team were able to accommodate an early check-in for you and help you settle in and rest comfortably.Your kind comments regarding our reception team, public areas, and overall cleanliness are greatly appreciated and will be shared with the team. I am also pleased that you enjoyed your dining experience in The Shore restaurant and that your Hilton Honors Gold upgrade to one of our north-facing rooms provided you with such spectacular views of the Forth Bridges.Thank you as well for your helpful feedback regarding location and transport links, as well as parking information, this is very useful for future guests to understand when planning their stay.It is especially rewarding to hear that you view the hotel as a destination in itself, and we are truly grateful for your recommendation. We very much look forward to welcoming you back again in the future.
