    Lovely hotel. Very convenient location

This is a great hotel, but there’s a club next door or right under the bedrooms part of the building and we could hear bass until around 2am, even on weeknights.

Good value but needs a tidy-up!

    rating20 May 2026

Despite the slightly scruffy terrace and entrance, the food (in my case a Caesar salad) was well presented and good. If the outside tables had been wiped and the terrace swept of its cigarette butts then it would have been a near-perfect experience. The beer is good and overall good value for money. It just needs to be cleaner.

    Edinburgh break for 2

    rating30 Mar 2026

Good Inn, great breakfast. Amazing location, minutes to most attractions. Room warm, comfortable and clean. Hair dryer and straightners in the room. Only downside 79 steps to the room, it does say stairs but not how many. Not ideal for people with health issues. Was able to leave bags at the start and end of our holiday.

    Better Hotels nearby

    rating25 Feb 2026

We visited Edinburgh for two nights, and the city itself is absolutely beautiful. I chose The Inn on the Mile purely for its location, as it sits right on the Royal Mile, which is perfect for exploring.Unfortunately, the hotel itself was very disappointing.📍 LocationThe location is truly the only major positive. Being right on the Mile makes it incredibly convenient for sightseeing, restaurants, and exploring the city.🏨 Hotel & Room ExperienceThere are only 10 rooms in total, and there is no lift available. If you’re staying on the top floor, you’ll need to carry luggage up a steep, heavy flight of stairs, which isn’t ideal. When we first entered the room, it appeared clean at a glance. However, once we went into the bathroom, it was clear it had not been properly cleaned. There was visible black mould in and around the sink that looked like it hadn’t been removed in a long time. It was extremely disappointing and not up to the standard I would expect. It didn’t completely ruin our stay since we were out most of the day, but it would have been nice to return to a properly cleaned, comfortable room each evening.🔑 Key IssuesWe were repeatedly given incorrect room keys. This meant my husband had to go up and down the stairs at least five times to resolve the issue, which was incredibly frustrating — especially given there is no lift.💳 Serious Billing IssueThe biggest issue was an incorrect charge to my credit card.I paid for the stay in full at check-in. The following day, I received an alert that an additional £281 had been charged to my card. I went straight to the front desk, and they told me they hadn’t charged my card and simply gave me a phone number to contact.I have been trying to resolve this issue since October, and it still hasn’t been sorted. The last correspondence I received stated they would “look into it,” but I have heard nothing since. The extra £281 remains unresolved.Given the repeated key mix-ups, I can only assume the billing error may have been connected to that confusion — but regardless, this should never happen.❌ Overall ImpressionSadly, I would not stay here again. It does not meet the standard I would expect, especially considering the price point. The Radisson Blu Hotel, Edinburgh City Centre is located directly beside it, and after seeing it, I genuinely regretted not booking there instead. If I return to Edinburgh, I would choose the Radisson for what appears to be a much higher standard and overall quality of stay.

    Best meal in Edinburgh

    rating19 Feb 2026

OMG, if we had come here the first night we’d have come every night. I had steak pie and he had the £20 deal of Cullen Skunk and pan seared salmon. The pub has music and ginormous tvs both of which I dislike in pubs, however, the food was outstanding, the ladies serving so nice and kind and value for money when on the royal mile? Stunning .10/10!
