  The Place is close to St.James Quarter, handy for bus station. Helpful staff. Stairs to the bedrooms are numerous and quite steep...There is NO lift/elevator and I can only imagine it would be a struggle to get luggage upstairs... I only had a backpack and was out of breath by the time I got to my room. Adequate bedroom, shampoo,conditioner,bodywash and hand soap in dispensers in bathroom. Iron and hairdryer in room, also an upright fan. No bottled water in room, no fridge, but kettle with tea coffee and milk available with biscuits. Breakfast is a combination of cooked or continental... decent selection and plentiful coffee. Biggest downside......the alpine like stairs to the rooms,and the stuffy bedrooms....there was no air circulating despite windows being open. The bed was hard, pillows like marshmallows and it was expensive,all in all, I was there for 1 night and probably wouldn't go back as it didn't meet my expectations.   Excellent little find

  My room was in the basement floor. It was wonderful! I couldn’t hear a thing in days. No external traffic sounds or people. I slept well. The only thing that woke me up was the Veluxe window that was on a timer, it opened by itself at 5am I recommend reading the instructions before going to sleep. 🤣🤣My pillows were a wee bit thin. I think they could have been slightly better, but all in the room was fine. Staff at the hotel were so friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent and the hotel is spotlessly clean.   A stunning stay with amazing views (3605)

  I recently stayed here (room 3605, romance suite) and had a great experience. The room was gorgeous, with high ceilings and tall windows that made the room feel spacious. The bed was huge. One of the highlights was the stunning view across Edinburgh and out towards the sea at Fife, very nice to wake up to.The bathroom was modern and very clean, and it was a treat to have quality shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel provided.The Highlights:Breakfast: Very good.Staff: Friendly and welcoming.Location: Fantastic. It is perfectly situated and very close to all the main attractions.A Few Minor Points:While my stay was mostly excellent, there were a couple of small drawbacks. The room did get quite warm, and the lack of air conditioning or a fridge was noticed. Additionally, while the shower was powerful, the drain was a bit slow, meaning I had to keep my showers quite short to avoid any overflow.Despite these small issues, the views and the location make this a brilliant choice for a trip to Edinburgh.   Perfect End to our Scottish Adventure

  Enjoyed our last two days in Scotland at this very fine hotel. The front desk upgraded us to a wonderful room with a beautiful view of the city. Enjoyed restful nights’ sleep and relaxing showers in our room. Establishment is well located to all Edinburgh has to offer. Highly recommend.
