Location

Located in one of the newest commercial districts of Exeter, adjacent to the Met Office and within minutes of the M5, this is the closest hotel to Exeter Airport that makes it an ideal location for corporate travellers. With easy access to many high quality tourist attractions in the area, this hotel is also the ideal base for a leisurely weekend. There is a bus stop outside the hotel with regular services into the centre of Exeter. Only a short drive away are both the North and South coastlines. The rugged coastline of North Devon is a stark contrast to the sandy beaches that can be found along the south coast. The hotel is also within easy reach of Dartmoor and Exmoor National Parks, and a 10-minute drive from Westpoint Arena and Crealy Adventure Park.

Facility

149 double rooms are located on 3 storeys and can be reached by lift. The reception desk is open round the clock. Amenities include a cloakroom, baggage storage service, safe and drinks machine. Wireless internet access (for a fee) allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. The hotel has a range of facilities for guests with disabilities. The hotel has wheelchair-accessible facilities. There are a number of shops as well. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the car park for a fee. Further services include a babysitting service, room service, a laundry service and a coin-operated laundry. To assist guests with their business and communication needs, the business centre offers a fax machine. 3 conference rooms are available for lectures, presentations and meetings.

Rooms are equipped with air conditioning and individually adjustable heating. All rooms are carpeted and include a double bed and a sofa bed. A desk is provided.     The room was really good. Spacious, comfortable bed, very clean and everything I could need for 1 night. The room was quiet even though facing a main road. Staff were lovely when checking in and getting a drink later in the evening. Only down sides - the air con was so noisy however it was too warm to not have it on. It was also really dusty. Secondly , the coffee at breakfast was terrible! I love a good coffee and am fussy, however it tasted very burnt and wasn’t drinkable. (Some people might like it! Who knows!) The bread rolls wrapped in cling film were also really dry.Appreciate it’s not overly expensive and I’d stay again as it was a comfortable night all in all.

    I use HiExpress properties a fair bit when travelling and this was the second time I had stayed here managing this time to get a double accessible room for £89. Parking is an extra £7 per night with a voucher from reception.The location is good just off the M5 and close to both Exeter city centre and the airport. The car park is large and there are several blue badge bays adjacent to the main entrance.Our room was clean and quiet, the breakfast selection good (albeit a standard HiExpress menu) and the staff friendly and helpful. There is a bar/lounge area available on the ground floor should you need it.Would I stay here again?.....Yes.     Another night away in IHG Holiday Inn Express in Exeter recently. I booked via my IHG app and my Platinum Elite membership allowed me a concessional rate of £136.77 B&B On my arrival there was plenty of parking and on my registration I was warmly welcomed and my Platinum Status was acknowledgedMy room was spotlessly clean and comfortable and I slept well and awoke refreshed and ready to travel I chose not to dine in the hotel and immediately adjacent is a Miller and Carter restaurant Also on arrival I was issued a code for concessionary parking at half price The only reason for not awarding 5* is that I feel parking should be free of charge if you and overnight guest Highly Recommend Hotel Manager Manager, Owner at Holiday Inn Express Exeter East By IHG, responded to this review Thank you for your feedback.We’re pleased to hear you enjoyed another stay and that the hotel met your expectations overall.     The rooms were basic but very clean and equipped with tea/coffee making facilities and toiletries. The bed was an average double but very comfortable, the pillows less so although there were two choices (I struggle if not memory foam). There were air conditioning controls to manage the room temperature. The staff were all very friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable including housekeeping.We had requested a quiet room which was acknowledged and offered.Breakfast was included in our rate and was buffet style with a reasonable choice of continental and cooked. Parking was extra but the room rate was very good so made up for this. It is located near to the Honiton Park and Ride which was in walking distance, to get to the city centre.
