    Very friendly staff

Lovely hotel for overnight stay. We were attending a wedding nearby and contacted the hotel prior to this to enquire about times for check in. Shirley answered our message right away and arranged for us to check in early allowing us to get ready instead of travelling in our wedding outfits. Also answered our queries about taxi etc. Very helpful and much appreciated so thank you. On arrival receptionist was very friendly and welcoming advised us on best time to leave and booked taxi for us. Room was lovely everything that was needed in it. Breakfast next morning was lovely served hot and fresh by friendly staff again. Plenty of choice available resteraunt spotless. Would highly recommend this hotel .Thank you to all the staff

Good food and quiet room, but accommodation needs attention

    rating23 May 2026

Stayed for one night in a suite (room 328). Overall, this was a mixed experience. The positives first: the staff I dealt with were pleasant, the bar and dining areas were bright and comfortable and the food was fine. AT dinner, haggis bon bons were served hot and crisp and the steak pie was very hot and generally enjoyable, though the pastry was a little stodgy. Breakfast was also fairly good, with nice orange juice and a decent continental selection including cheese and ham. The scrambled egg on toast was let down by being served on rather limp supermarket brown sliced bread, but breakfast overall was acceptable.Another definite plus was that my room was very quiet. My accommodation was in a single-storey block away from the main building, and the vestibule layout meant there was no noise from other guests walking to and from rooms in the block. Given how busy the hotel was with functions, that was a real benefit. The accommodation itself was the weaker part. The suite was spacious but felt tired and oddly put together. On arrival the room was swelteringly hot, with several radiators turned up full, including the towel rail and other room radiators. The desk area had very limited power sockets, the chair was not properly height-adjustable, there was no luggage rack despite plenty of floor space, and some fittings and surfaces looked tired or poorly maintained. That said, the bathroom had a nice walk-in shower and a corner bath; the shower was hot and gave a good strong flow. The main concern was the ground-floor room window. The restrictor/security catch appeared to have been forced or defeated, meaning the window could open wide and did not feel secure. WiFi was available throughout the hotel, probably speed capped to 6Mbps. In summary, the food, breakfast and general service were decent, and the room was quiet. The hotel clearly works well as a busy local bar/function venue with guests staying after wedding receptions etc.

    Surprised!

    rating09 May 2026

This hotel is in walking distance for me and I have been in it many times over the years . I like to support local when I can so while out a walk,I thought I would nip in just to buy a snack and a can of juice. So let's break it down for people.LOCATION: -Great location! Just off the M80 motorway ,easy access on and off the main motorway network with a petrol station a short distance away. Would provide a great base for exploring the central belt of Scotland ....and if you are an Outlander fan, then it is literally along the road from Wardpark Studios.PARKING:- Decent car park with ample room for parking.RESTAURANT:- There is a bar / restaurant on site. I cannot comment on the food as I didn't eat in the venue. The staff were pleasant though.DECOR:- From the areas I saw, the venue is well presented. It has had an overhaul and been redecorated recently as it was bought over so much needed improvements have been done and it looks lovely. Restaurant/ bar is clean and fresh.PRICES:- Well, as I said, I only popped in on the way past as I was out walking.....now I know that prices have increased but a standard packet of cheese and onion crisps and a can or diet irn bru??? £5.45! I was stunned! For another £1.05, I could have had a bowl of soup 🤣 x
