    Would not recommend

    rating24 May 2026

Communication is shocking. Checked in and asked for later checkout because we were going to be out drinking. No problem. However, 10am Sunday morning comes constant drilling and banging. Phoned up reception but they said couldn’t be stopped because it’s contractors. Not sure why you would have any contractors in on a Sunday morning anyway but surely could have started at 12pm which was everyone’s normal checkout time. Checked out at 12pm so was refunded the £20 late check out fee. But complained and asked for at least a partial refund of booking but were told because booked through booking.com to contact them, however made no sense what so ever because we paid when we got to the hotel. But booking.com quickly got back to us and we were told hotel refused a refund. Shock. This is something we should have been told on time of check in. £180 down the drain in my opinion. Room was horrible anyway. Will never be back and would never recommend to anyone. Jason McKerrell, General Manager at ibis budget Glasgow, responded to this review Dear robynwH5501EJ, Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experience at the ibis budget Glasgow. I am sorry that your experience did not meet your expectations; please allow me to express my sincerest apologies. The drilling did not begin early hours, it began at 11am. You were refunded for the late checkout your paid for in advance as you called at 11:30am regarding noise. You then checked out at 12 noon as per the standard check out times, therefore, you used your room to the full. We are not able to issue a refund, works are done within social hours and your complaint was dealt with at the time of your stay. We appreciate your sharing your concerns, and it is our hope that you will give us the opportunity to better serve you in the near future. Sincerely, Natashia Cairnie Assistant General Manager

Not for me - better value for money elsewhere

    rating11 May 2026

Positives: Location of the hotel was ok if you are going to the hydro, room was clean enough, comfy bed and the pillows were excellent and friendly staff but sadly that is where it ends.Negatives: Entrance way to hotel via lift makes you want to about turn before you even get to the floor that reception is on! Overpowering smell of air freshener in corridors, depressing corridors and décor and area's all very stuffy. The room is a bit like a prison cell with a very small toilet, sink within the room and shower area behind frosted glass but it worked ok. Note there is no hair dryer within the room so make sure to bring your own. Breakfast buffet is not worth the money, if you stay here then don't include it as two mini pastries and two coffees is not worth £8.50.Main concern is to get out to the main road you need to walk through a lane in the car park, which is dark and secluded, which I don't feel is safe for any solo traveller or young girls at any time of day!For the price paid, would rather have spent an extra £20 - £30 to stay in a decent hotel with a good sized room and basic amenities. This is a very budget hotel not charging budget prices. Would not stay again. Jason McKerrell, General Manager at ibis budget Glasgow, responded to this review Hi LDW102012,Thank you for taking the time to review your stay with us at Ibis Budget Glasgow.I am sorry to hear you were dissatisfied with your stay due to various factors. To address some of these concerns; We provide hairdryers from reception upon request, this is subject to availability but it is rare we do not have one on hand. There is air freshener within the hallways which is on a timer, I believe this to be better than smelling generally bad. The rooms are as per our website and you can view this prior to booking with us, if you check the images you will see the bathroom layout - this is the typical Ibis Budget standard. Our breakfast buffet is a continental, therefore, we offer items such as meats, cheeses, pastries, fruits, baked beans and so on. We are cheaper than other hotels in regards to the room rate and breakfast, we still believe our selection is generous for the price. You can avoid the car park lane by going past the Hollywood Bowl & Burger King, the car park lane is just more efficient. There is 24/7 security and CCTV covering the car park, therefore, it is safe. Horrendous Noise

    rating13 Apr 2026

Lifts were being worked on during our stay and the noise from drilling and hammering was horrendous. We were told that no ther rooms were available and we would just have to put up with it. I'm not even going to go on about all it's other faults as they've already been covered by many others on here. Do yourself a favour and book somewhere else. This place would not be worth it even if it was free. Jason McKerrell, General Manager at ibis budget Glasgow, responded to this review Hi Robing05207416837,Thank you for your review. Yes, we currently have one lift out of service due to this being reconditioned, the works for this takes place during social hours. I appreciate that this put a dampener on your stay, however, it is not something that occurs 24/7 as stated. We appreciate your feedback and hope you will give us another chance to improve your rating in the future. Kind regards,Natashia CairnieAssistant General Manager

    Key Card Security Issue.

    rating14 Mar 2026

Good location, 20 minute walk into the City Centre, Free Parking in their own Multi Storey Car Park.On Checkout you just place your Room Key Card in an open box this should be aLetter Box type box for security negating anyone getting hold of a Key Card. Especially with the recent spike in non guests entering other peoples rooms.A simple fix for the Accor Group.
