Location

Set in 18 acres of parkland on the banks of the River Clyde, the hotel is a short drive from the centre of Glasgow and makes a perfect base for visiting the Kilpatrick Hills, the Trossachs and Loch Lomond. The main rail stations in Glasgow (Central and Queen St) are a 10 minute taxi journey from the hotel. Paisley rail station is 5 miles away, as is Glasgow International Airport.

Facility

177 rooms, including 2 junior suites, 2 suites and 171 double rooms, are located on 8 storeys and can be reached by 2 lifts. Guests are warmly welcomed by multilingual staff at the 24-hour reception desk in the lobby. Check-in/check-out service is available round the clock. Amenities include a cloakroom, baggage storage service, safe, currency exchange service and drinks machine. Wireless internet access allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. The hotel has a range of facilities for guests with disabilities. Wheelchair-accessible facilities are available. There are also a number of shops that make for great strolling and browsing. The grounds of the hotel feature a playground and a lovely garden. Additional amenities include a TV room and a library.     Starting with the positive, bed was the comfiest I’ve ever slept in in my entire life! Gonna miss it very much. Room was very pretty and well decorated. I had an amazing view of the river and bridge. Staff were very helpful and kind. Only things I’d say I didn’t enjoy were the food options, the room service wasn’t available the whole time I was there, they only had a buffet, and fire alarm tests went on too frequently, I think every other day which meant when the “real” one went off I didnt take it seriously. The hotel is very far from everything so you’ll need to take a car, taxi or bus for a while to get to civilisation and touristy places.

    Wss given the wrong checkout day so paid an extra day to find out it was actually already paid till that date. Now they are refusing to refund. Be wary when you book a stay

    Well... what a total DISASTER! I have NEVER EVER stayed at a hotel where they run out of hot water!!! And then when complaining my partner was offered a bucket of hot water to wash in! We were so offended by this, we had been travelling all day and took a total of 10 hours to get there. The staff were very unprofessional and unhelpful, they didnt seem to care when there was an issue, just shrugged their shoulders. The hotel was beautifully displayed but the issue we had with our room was that the room had shiny tiled floors, this was extremely slippery and very cold to walk on. 5 coach loads of people turned up which is normal but... the hotel lobby was absolutely rammed with people everywhere and it was so noisy. People were slamming doors and shouting up corridors so late in the night and then in the morning we had been woken by people banging and slamming the doors as well as shouting up the corridors. The room could do with a better door to try and eliminate the noise!!! Breakfast.... well we couldn't get there as the room was packed full of people and you couldnt get there to get anything, so although we had paid for breakfast we didnt actually get any!! Management are not particularly helpful in any way, they could do with some management training so that they can support people better. Anyhow we only stayed the 1 night and departed early as we were supposed to stay 3 nights. This hotel was abysmal and I will never return and I will also not recommend this hotel to anyone.
