We bought an afternoon ticket to use the lido, what an appalling experience! The lido was overbooked & people who were fed up of waiting in the baking hot sun were just walking through. The poor staff, who were quite young, tried to stop this but failed. Why should they be left dealing with this situation anyway, I’m sure they’re not paid enough, there was no manager & people who had bought tickets were turned away!! Surely, they should have been reimbursed there & then!!The pool was small & filthy, the water was never checked & it definitely didn’t smell of chlorine, you couldn’t move in it! Box Hill river was probably cleaner!! Not enough beds, not enough umbrellas and paid £4.00 for a can of coke! It was one big ‘rip off’!!!

Stay somewhere else.

Do not waste your money. If you are looking to escape the heat this week. I would not recommend you stay here. The hotel management are a joke. The air conditioning is broken and they advised that they never fix it because it trips out. The room has been around 40°c reception didnt care advising that all management are in India and they do not speak to customers. He also advised that they cannot offer a refund. They gave us an email for management but advised that they wont reply. It feels like a scam. 4 star is a ridiculous rating when it should 1 or 2 based in the facilities. Just stay anywhere else if you are in the Dorking area. Its also a wedding venue which blows my mind. The location is nice but dont let that fool you. This place should have a change in ownership asap.

Don’t use the pool!
19 Jun 2026
I got married here and decided to take me daughter back to use the pool! Big mistake, I went to the hotel reception to pay for parking by entering my VRN and was assured it would cover me. I then received a parking ticket, which I appealed and got rejected as I was clearly mis informed by the hotel of the duration it covered. The pool water wasn’t pleasant and after queuing to get in we couldn’t even get a sun bed so had to sit on the grass! The staff were rude at times and the whole experience has cost me a fortune!

Awful room, terrible staff, avoid
18 Jun 2026
We decided to stay at this hotel on June 14th 2026, we were apprehensive as the reviews were mixed but decided to book as we only needed it for one night. Once we were settled into the room, after a couple of hours we noticed a disgusting amount of bugs and flies coming through a hole in the wall- of which I have uploaded photos. These were covering the corner of the wall and the floor by the beds. Absolutely horrible for any hotel. This was clearly unacceptable so I went to speak to the person at reception who told me they were the manager. I explained the situation and as we were walking to the room he then turned around and said he needed to check in another guest and would come back to me, which again was unacceptable as I had already explained the situation and did not want be in the room any longer. He came to the room and looked at the bugs and flies and left us there whilst he found us another room. He then decided to move us to the room next door which also had multiple daddy long legs in it and if the bugs could come through the wall in the room next door we felt that they could easily make their way into this one.We had had a long journey and by this point were extremely disappointed and tired and decided to leave. At reception we explained that we were not happy about staying and asked for a full refund, the manager then said there was nothing he could do apart from spray the bugs with mould spray and then told us to email if we wanted a refund. We were also given silly excuses, another saying the reason for the bugs was because of the forest nearby. Given the state of the amount of bugs coming through the wall a refund would be the least thing that we expected. We left feeling extremely upset and had to drive three hours home as we also didn't want to stay in a different hotel given the state of the rooms at Sunday, which completely ruined our plans for the rest of the trip.We were not even given an apology and the manager did not seem best helpful given that their job is to make people feel safe and welcomed where they are staying and to offer suitable solutions when things are not right. We are unsure how this was missed by housekeeping and can assume that the rooms are not properly cleaned or checked thoroughly as there was clearly a hole with hundreds of bugs coming through.I have tried to resolve this matter with the email I was given and I am getting nowhere and I am now receiving no response after being told to wait for a decision. Clearly the only decision is at the very least a refund as the room was inhabitable. We also dined at the hotel and I was told the pizza was fresh made to order. When it arrived it was clearly a frozen pizza base with the most poorest quality of toppings.

Hotel cancelled my booking
18 Jun 2026
I cannot comment on the quality of stay at the Burford Bridge Hotel as I did not get that far. My comment is regarding their treatment of my booking. On Monday 15th June I made a room booking for one night (Wednesday 17th), which was accepted and confirmed by the hotel. I had two day-long meetings in Leatherhead on the Wednesday and Thursday, which meant me leaving home (in east Dorset) at 5.30am on the Wednesday. At 18.35 on Tuesday night I received an e-mail (which I didn’t pick up until 19.10) notifying me that my booking was cancelled. A covering e-mail told me it was due to unavoidable circumstances and gave me the usual meaningless platitudes, straight from the book of management excuses, about how they “deeply regret the inconvenience caused” – and also that there was no nearby accommodation available!I had noticed, when searching for a hotel on Monday, that there was a shortage of accommodation in the Leatherhead area (and what there was had inflated pricing) which I put down to it being Royal Ascot week. I also noted that the price I got from the Burford Bridge hotel was apparently at a reduced rate offer. Therefore, I am pretty sure that the “unavoidable circumstances” of the cancellation was because someone offered more for the room and I was ‘gazumped’.Needless to say, trying to obtain alternative local accommodation in the time available proved impossible and I ended up making the decision to drive back home late on Wednesday evening and repeating the early start on Thursday morning. So, there may be some comments on how nice the hotel is, but just be aware that, in some circumstances, a confirmed booking is not necessarily a confirmed booking, particularly with regard to any special offers.I will now be travelling to Leatherhead for two or three days every week, but I will not be bothering with this hotel….
