    Tremendous value meal

    rating29 May 2026

We only ate here having called in the restaurant on spec and it was tremendous value for money with great friendly service. A very limited menu for TT week of pub type grub but the two that we selected, cod and chips and gammon, were substantial, well cooked and served quickly. The dining room was spotlessly clean and staff were friendly. At £15 per meal excellent value. I think we'll be back there later in the week.

Not the most restful place we’ve stayed

    rating19 May 2026

Very friendly hotel the staff were excellent. Food was good plenty of choice at both breakfast & evening meal. We had a front room overlooking the sea on the 1st floor but we were woken at 4.30 am on three mornings with people coming & going along the corridors with fire doors banging which was wasn’t ideal so we were very tired having broken sleep. The shower wasn’t ideal having to climb into bath so no good for older guests. The front access steps are too steep & difficult when you have a big heavy case.

    Room for improvement

    rating17 May 2026

To start with the positive. Room 404 was lovley to look at with a great sea view. There was plenty of space and the staff were friendly. So far so good. However unless you have a PHD in physics you will find using the lock for the room and switching on the shower infuriating. We had to ask staff how to use both but thankfully they wete prompt both times. The other downsides to the hotel are the claustrophobic lift which I avoided after using once and the breakfast which was included in the price was pretty poor. The hotel has so much potential but some of the basics need to be improved.

Very disappointed stay, won’t come back

    rating08 May 2026

Let’s start with the positive…. The location of this hotel on the promenade (if you are lucky to have a sea view room - I didn’t!)The bad….. check in was ok - apart from forgetting to give me the key of my roomRoom was bad, especially the smell of damp - probably why there are so many strong hair fresheners in the corridor. I did report the smell to the reception and got told that they couldn’t change my room as it was full and suggested to send someone to check the smell (what’s the point of that?!?)Left the window open but there is a loud Aircon unit so not the quiet room I asked for!Bed was comfortable though Showers head couldn’t be moved, some rust and a broken unit under the sink (the water wouldn’t go through!!!!)Breakfast was ok, food offer adequate but nothing special Check out was awkward, just all sorted, no thanks for staying, how was your stay?!? They probably knew what the answer would be!Apparently this hotel had a massive renovation, well I would argue that it needs more I avoided the lift, only one person can fit in it and it doesn’t feel too safe imo
