Overnight stay as we were visiting relatives close by. Hotel is dated and sadly the room smelt very damp. Gluten free breakfast on request.

    A night away

    rating24 May 2026

On arrival the hotel looked lovely and we were excited for our night away. There was a wedding going on, which they had warned us about, that was fine, it was great to see everyone dressed up and excited for the bride and groom. After check in we went to the bar to be told by a member of staff that we weren’t allowed in there, she was quite rude and felt like she was batting us away. We went to the small bar around the other side and were served. The soup and sandwich lunch was satisfactory, but I couldn’t get the sour taste of the rudeness out of my mouth. Dinner was delicious, a special mention to Jim who was amazing, he worked so hard to make sure everyone was happy and served in a timely manner. Jim made the trip for us. The room was good, the beds not very comfortable but we slept fine. Breakfast was good. In the morning the outside was particularly messy, with lots of cigarette ends, full ashtrays and glasses lying around. Not sure we’ll go again and I’m sorry to say that is largely due to the very rude bar person. Angie K, General Manager at Everglades Park Hotel, responded to this review Dear Jane C715,Thank you for taking the time to share your experience at Widnes Halton Everglades Park Hotel. I am pleased to hear that you enjoyed the wedding atmosphere and found our dinner service delightful, especially with Jim's commendable efforts. Your positive feedback regarding our dining options and room accommodations is appreciated. However, I sincerely regret the negative experience you encountered at the bar. It is concerning to hear about the demeanor of our staff, as we strive to maintain a welcoming and pleasant environment for all guests. Additionally, I acknowledge your comments regarding the state of the outdoor areas. We take cleanliness very seriously and will ensure this feedback is relayed to the appropriate teams.Your experience is invaluable to us, and I appreciate your insights. Should you decide to visit us again in the future, I hope for a more enjoyable experience overall.Best regards,Widnes Halton Everglades Park Hotel

    Fabulous as always

    rating10 May 2026

Just got home from staying at the everglades hotel in Widnes. Stay here many times and the reasons are . On entering the hotel you are immediately greeted and made to feel very comfortable, on this occasion we were assisted and checked in by a lovely lady (ang ) she was extremely professional and also very kind and went that extra mile to make our stay special . It was my final birthday celebrations and she could not do enough and with me being coeliac I was instantly impressed with the choices offered to me on the menu . I try to go here every month and IV introduced 3 more of my friends to this hotel as I'll most definitely be back again and I want them to enjoy the same experience . Id like to take this opportunity to personally extend my gratitude to ang who IV met on many occasions and she is genuinely lovely and very kind . Also thanks to Jim in the restaurant. As always a true gent, very kind and very professional. Thanks again for making my birthday stay very special and even singing happy birthday to me whilst bringing a cake to our table ang and Jim . Hotel and rooms tired.

    rating08 May 2026

Hotel on the outside looked very inviting. We were greeted by very friendly and helpful staff. The hotel appeared to be clean and maintained. We were there for 2 nights and although they had 2 parties - were not disturbed by them.We booked for an evening meal on our first night and to be honest- the food wasn't the best. We had starters of Welsh Rarebit on crumpets. The Rarebit was more like a sauce on top of a mass produced crumpet. My main course was steak and ale pie with chips and vegetables. The pie was obviously a mass produced one and it was in gràvy as opposed to having a separate jug to pour over. Our friend had a chicken dish with mash. She said that the mash was like microwaved Mash and the chicken appeared to have a tomato based sauce poured over. When we had desserts, I had the Rhubarb and custard tart. The tart was mass produced and rhubarb was cold and tinned as was the custard which was tipped over it.There did not appear to have been any input from a chef. The 2nd evening, we ate at a Harvester restaurant and the food was better. Breakfast on the first morning was via a menu and that was nice. However, on the 2nd morning as the hotel was busy, it was a buffet style and some of the foods was dried out.Our bedroom also was tired in appearance, with only an electric wall heater under a window in the bedroom. That also had signs of rust showing. There was no heating in the bathroom. Our mattress could at best be described as once being a main mattress in a house and then relegated to the spare room when a new one was purchased. It was not comfortable and you could feel the sprung pockets.Parking was ample and free. The front of house staff, housekeepers and waiting staff were fantastic, with nothing being too much trouble.Would we stay there again? No, not unless improvements were made. Angie K, General Manager at Everglades Park Hotel, responded to this review Dear D499OKSteveThank you for taking the time to share your feedback regarding your recent stay with us. We appreciate your kind words about our friendly staff and the cleanliness of our hotel. However, we are genuinely sorry to learn that your experience did not meet your expectations, particularly concerning the quality of the meals you received. We strive to provide a diverse and satisfying dining experience, and your comments regarding the food have been noted for future consideration.Additionally, we regret that the condition of your bedroom did not provide the comfort you deserved. Your observations about the heating and the mattress quality are important to us, and we will take them into account as we continue to assess our accommodations. We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed our breakfast on the first morning and that our parking facilities met your needs. Thank you once again for your valuable insights; they help us improve our services moving forward. We hope you will reconsider staying with us in the future.Sincerely,Widnes Halton Everglades Park Hotel

Celebration of Life/Wake - Biscayne Room

    rating06 May 2026

Called in at short notice looking for a venue for a wake, and were greeted by Angela who set us at ease immediately. She showed us the options of the Biscayne Room or the hotel restaurant. We were unsure of actual numbers and estimated between 30-50 people, so opted for the Biscayne. Angela was very helpful and tailor made a buffet package and explained how they would set the room out and what facilities were available - eg easel, projector, music. On the day we were looked after by Clare and the team, who kept checking in to make sure everything, including when we were ready for the food to be served and even asked us to check it over before we announced it to the room. We had more people come back than we anticipated and the team were able to accommodate some extra items at last minute for a minimal extra charge, which was very helpful. We were very happy with the whole afternoon, the quality of the food and the service from the staff at what was a very difficult time. We feel we found the perfect venue for our requirements. Angie K, General Manager at Everglades Park Hotel, responded to this review Dear SarahH70,Thank you for taking the time to share your experience regarding the celebration of life event held in our Biscayne Room.
