Ok to stay but eat elsewhere

    rating26 May 2026

This was a last minute booking during the recent hot weather so we wanted somewhere with air conditioning. The link on the confirmation email took us to the wrong place so do double check the directions. The rooms are ok, the double room that we had (231) was small and a little dated. The twin (511) was bigger but South facing and the air conditioning struggled to keep up.We didn’t use the pool etc There is plenty of free parking. We ate in the restaurant- breakfast was good with 2 friendly and efficient members of staff and a good selection of hot and cold food available. Dinner was a comedy of errors with 2 not so efficient members of staff. Orders were taken only to be told 10 minutes later that half of the order wasn’t available. White wine was not chilled. Starters arrived after the main meals. We were expected to sign for the bill without seeing a printed copy of it which I was unhappy with and glad that I insisted on at least seeing the bill on a screen as all of the food that wasn’t available was still on the bill! It took a more capable member of staff at reception to sort it all out. It’s a handy place to stop off but I won’t be rushing back.

    Excellent stay.

    rating08 May 2026

We have now stayed here twice along with our dog whilst visiting family in Liverpool. We find that the hotel is great value for money and the staff that we have interacted with are fantastic and so friendly. The rooms could do with a bit of an update but that doesn’t put us off staying here again in the future. Rooms are dog friendly so you can bring your best friend with you. There are leisure facilities on site that are included in your room rate which although we haven’t used seems unbelievable value considering other hotel chains either don’t have the facility or they charge to use. Free car parking in a large car park, never had a problem parking. Breakfast was included In our booking and is good, there’s hot breakfast, fresh fruits, cereals and pastries along with fruit juices, teas and coffees. A high review for us considering the facilities and overall price of the stays we have had.

A good stay - loved the pool

    rating15 Apr 2026

We stayed at this hotel for a quick, last minute getaway and had a lovely time with our 8 year old daughter (She loved the pool). The facilities were great for a short break. There was a decent sized heated pool, a whirlpool connected to the main pool, a sauna, and a small gym.The breakfast offered a simple but good selection for the price. Although I couldn’t find a vegetarian sausage option, that’s just a personal preference.Keep in mind that there aren’t any major towns or cities nearby, so it’s best to bring along anything you might need in advance. The only downside was the size of the room, which felt quite small compared to other Holiday Inn hotels we’ve stayed at in the UK.Overall, it was a good stay and a pleasant short escape.

Afternoon tea for mothers day with glass of prosecco on arrival 🙂

    rating16 Mar 2026

Had a lovely Mothers Day :) afternoon tea at the Holiday Inn, Runcorn, The afternoon tea was absolutely amazing, Jackie the manager and tom/staff where remarkable/amazing, they made you feel so welcome, with a glass of prosecco on arrival, then always making sure you was ok, Jackie toping our glasses up, then leaving us with the rest of the bottle of prosecco🙂Tom always checking if we where ok for cups of coffee and tea, could not ask for a better service from all the staff, would definitely recommend the Holiday Inn and definitely will be going there again sometime soon, 💯🥰❤️ xx
