    Great Hotel in the centre of Liverpool

    I visited for a one night stopover as I was attending a business meeting. The hotel is beautiful, the staff were excellent and the room very good and immaculately clean. The breakfast was delicious and excellent quality. Nastasja the new general manager was superb and I am sure she has big plans for this Hotel. I will definitely stay here next time I am in Liverpool. This place is definitely on the up. Awesome

    Bad Room, Good Breakfast

    The room itself was a good size and the bathroom was nice, but unfortunately the overall stay was very disappointing due to a number of basic comfort issues.For some reason, the main light switch was located next to the furthest bed, or possibly not working properly at all. The mattress was incredibly uncomfortable I completely sank through to the bed frame and the pillows were so thin that they may as well have just been pillowcases. The “double bed” was also simply two single beds pushed together, which made it even more uncomfortable.Our room was located right next to the hallway door, and because our room door was loose, every time someone opened the hallway door it caused our door to rattle loudly. If you did manage to fall asleep, the rattling genuinely sounded like someone was trying to force their way into the room, which was unsettling throughout the night.To make matters worse, the heating randomly came on in the middle of the night in May, leaving the room unbearably hot and waking us up sweating.Considering how poor the room experience was, I did not have high expectations for breakfast however, I have to give credit where it’s due. The breakfast was honestly one of the best hotel breakfasts I’ve had, with a huge amount of variety and very good quality.     Mmmmm. Cool old hotel. Good location, but..... needs an overhaul on beds, air conditioning and a few other things.
