Location

This hotel is located in London's financial district, only minutes by underground away from the West End. The Thames is only a few minutes away on foot. Liverpool Street station is opposite the hotel and provides guests with easy access to destinations within and around London as well as to other parts of England.

Facility

The holiday apartments were built in 1900. The apartment hotel has 48 apartments, which are located on 5 storeys and are reachable by lift. Multilingual staff (English, German, French) at the reception desk in the lobby are ready to assist you with check-in and check-out. Services such as a baggage storage service and a safe ensure a comfortable stay. Wireless internet access allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the garage (for a fee) or in the car park.     I have a booking confirmation with 196 Bishopsgate, booked and confirmed since November 2025. Now 6 weeks prior to my arrival, 196 Bishopsgate email me to say they are undertaking renovations and the Penthouse Apartment I booked, is no longer available. They have re-advertised for 3 times the price AVOID THIS PROPERTY SO YOUR HOLIDAY PLANS ARE NOT DISTRIBUTED.

    Just really poor - venue is more than tired, and the check-in team member was not up to any standard. Really somewhere that I didn't feel comfortable, welcome, or that I wanted to stay - if I had the option, I would have packed up and gone somewhere else.

    The location of the property was ideal, the staff very friendly.The apartment however was nothing like what was advertised on Booking.com , the photos did not match what we had. See photos.The place needed so much updating. The floors were terrible, the walls had marks all over. The rug was stained. The blinds in the bedroom didn't fit and were damaged. The blinds in the living area were falling down slightly. The worst area was the bathroom. The floor was stained with I dont know what, the toilet roll holder hanging off, the toilet seat didn't fit right, there was a door missing to the storage room so you had full sight of washing machine, ironing board , iron and other items whilst sat on toilet. There was nowhere to hang coats, scarves etc when wet even though there was plenty of space to do that. Furniture needed replacing, the settee and chairs were cracked and damaged. Very limited utensils, crockery etc in kitchen. The coffee machine had old water in reservoir so had to clean and rinse machine until clean. Bedside table missing handles and wardrobe doors not straight.

    Excellent location next to Liverpool Street Station for a one-day family stay. The apartment was well-equipped to prepare a hot breakfast.
