    Authentic London experience

    rating04 Jun 2026

Lovely gem of a hotel - clean, renovated, staff very polite and helpful, on a busy street but not noisy. Near a tube and bus station, located in the beautiful Kensington. Lovely bathing products! Whoever complains about the narrow steps or small rooms - it is the price you pay for staying in a beautiful traditional Edwardian townhouse, which is a true London experience itself! Joan Lagahit , Other at 54 Queen's Gate Hotel, responded to this review Dear marygrant,Thank you for your wonderful review and kind words. We are delighted that you enjoyed our location, amenities, and the service provided by our team. We're especially pleased that you appreciated the unique character of our Edwardian townhouse and the authentic London experience it offers. We truly appreciate your recommendation and look forward to welcoming you back on your next visit to London.Warm regards,Joan LagahitOperations Manager

    Great location, disappointing breakfast

    rating15 May 2026

The hotel was in a great location, suitable for our evening at the Albert Hall. The room on the third floor was small but had everything we needed including a really big bed and a great shower. Although there were two lifts it wouldn’t be suitable for disabilities as you had to go up stairs to get from one lift to the other to access the upper floors. Our only negatives were 1) the breakfast which was not worth the money as there was a limited cooked option and very few pastries. 2) the £11.81 apparently taken to hold a credit card on arrival. The receptionist wasn’t able to explain it.At over £300 for the night including breakfast it seemed expensive but we were glad we stayed over rather than rush home after a concert. Joan Lagahit , Other at 54 Queen's Gate Hotel, responded to this review Dear Jill J,Thank you very much for taking the time to share your feedback. We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed our location and found your room comfortable for your visit to the Royal Albert Hall. For any future stays, please do let us know in advance should you have a preference for a higher or lower floor, or if you require an accessible room. Our team will always do their very best to allocate a room that best suits your needs. With regards to breakfast, our continental offering is buffet-style and unlimited, together with one hot dish included. Should you ever require additional pastries or breakfast items, our team would be more than happy to replenish these for you during service. The service charge applied at check-in is outlined within the reservation confirmation at the time of booking. Many of our guests appreciate this as a reflection of the level of care and service provided by our team throughout their stay.Thank you once again for your comments, and we very much hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back again soon.Kind regards,Joan LagahitOperations Manager

lovely hotel but breakfast should have been better.

    rating21 Apr 2026

We had one night here as we were booked to see Tori Amos at the Royal Albert Hall and there was a tube strike. The hotel is in an excellent location just minutes away from the museums and the RAH. Our room overlooked the Natural History Museum. It was spotlessly clean and fresh. It had everything you need. The bed was comfortable. All the rooms are themed, which is lovely and we were able to check in early whch was really helpful. The staff were all friendly too. The hotel is not well soundproofed which could be an issue if you are a light sleeper. The breakfast was cooked to order but the choice of cooked food was very limited - just eggs, sausage and bacon. There were some pastries and cereal etc but if you opt for the 9.30 breakfast some things run out and are not replenished. The price of the breakfast was not good value for what was on offer (even in South Kensington). It is such a great hotel, we expected better for breakfast! If I stay here again I would probably eat elsewhere. Joan Lagahit , Other at 54 Queen's Gate Hotel, responded to this review Dear Little Jenny,Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback following your recent stay with us. We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed our location, the cleanliness and comfort of your room, and the friendliness of our team. It is wonderful to know that these aspects contributed positively to your visit, especially for such a special occasion. We truly appreciate your comments regarding soundproofing. As our hotel is housed within a beautiful Victorian building, some aspects of the original structure—such as sound insulation—are part of its historic character and can be challenging to fully adapt without compromising its integrity. That said, we understand how important a restful night’s sleep is and will continue to explore ways to improve our guests’ comfort wherever possible. We are also grateful for your feedback on breakfast. While our cooked options are prepared fresh to order, we are sorry to hear that the selection felt limited and that items were not promptly replenished during your visit. This is certainly not the experience we aim to provide. Our team is always happy to refill items upon request, and we encourage guests to let our breakfast host know so we can ensure everything is available and enjoyable throughout the service.Your comments are invaluable in helping us improve, and we do hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back again in the future for an even better experience.Warm regards,Joan LagahitOperations Manager

About as perfect for me as it gets

    rating27 Mar 2026

I meant to write a review immediately because this place was about as perfect for me as it gets - and for a price which in Edinburgh would get you something really not very nice not very near the centre. This was bang in the centre of one of the most attractive parts of London, opposite the Natural History Museum, a stone's throw from Kensington Gardens and the Albert Hall and incredibly convenient for public transport. There was always a responsive and helpful person at reception and when I expressed uncertainty about the key card I was shown how it works. The room was very comfortable and the shower effective and easy to use. I felt thoroughly safe and looked after and, for a hick from the sticks (Scottish Borders) in central London that is saying something. It was also surprisingly quiet. When I next need to go to London I will go straight back to 54 Queens Gate. Joan Lagahit , Other at 54 Queen's Gate Hotel, responded to this review Dear Kate M,Thank you so much for your wonderful review! It is fantastic to know that our central location, comfortable rooms, and helpful reception team made you feel safe, looked after, and right at home—even for a visitor from the Scottish Borders! We truly appreciate your kind words about the quiet atmosphere and the convenience of our proximity to the Natural History Museum, Kensington Gardens, and the Albert Hall. Knowing that you plan to return means the world to us, and we can’t wait to welcome you back on your next trip to London.Kind regards,Joan LagahitOperations Manager

    Not worth the money

    rating23 Mar 2026

Chose this hotel as it was very convenient for The Royal Albert Hall where we were going for an evening's concert (just a short walk away). We knew that it was expensive but, I guess, normal for this part of London and first impressions were good. The receptionist extremely cheerful and helpful, the room although dark (as it was on the lower floor) clean and tidy and the bed comfortable. However it all went downhill on our return from the concert as the room (No. 2) so noisy all night that we hardly got any sleep. Somebody has to investigate where the noises come from! We had to chase around for a toilet roll (only one partly used had been provided) and the breakfast a huge disappointment. The waiter needs to attend charm school to find out how to interact with clients as he was very surly and uncommunicative. The breakfast choices were very limited, I would expect at these prices to have at least a cafetiere of coffee and a jug of milk rather than a cup and find your own milk and when asking for brown sauce to have some brought to the table rather that be directed to find our own on the buffet breakfast table only to find there wasn't any! Would definitely look for an alternative place to stay! Joan Lagahit , Other at 54 Queen's Gate Hotel, responded to this review Dear David E,Thank you for your feedback. We are pleased to hear that you found our location convenient and appreciated the warm welcome from our reception team, as well as the comfort and cleanliness of your room. However, we are sorry to learn that other aspects of your stay did not meet your expectations. Please be assured that the experience you describe is not representative of the level of service we strive to deliver and are known for. Your comments regarding the noise, in-room amenities, and breakfast service have been noted and will be reviewed with the team to ensure greater consistency in our guest experience.Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We do hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future.Kind regards,Joan LagahitOperations Manager
