    Just the place for a convenient stay in London

    We stayed at the Athena Hotel in Sussex Gardens for 6 nights. It’s located near Paddington so tube/ buses are available and there are many restaurants and pubs nearby. For us a major advantage was being able to park the car outside the hotel for a charge of £20/day and the location is just outside the congestion charge zone. The hotel is clean and functional. Breakfast is good continental. Staff are pleasant and always helpful. For the price, an excellent place to stay in central London.

    I would recommend this hotel. The receptionist was so helpful when I booked. She accommodated myself and 2 friends in a room with 3 singles beds which was quiet and well ventilated which was exactly what we asked for. We were very pleased. The breakfast was very good for the inclusive price. The location was ideal - just a few minutes walk from Paddington station

    Excellent location 3 blocks from Paddington Station in a quiet, upscale neighborhood, surrounded by a diversity of restaurants. We were there 4 nights. Good breakfast. Business-like staff.

    The Athena Hotel is a charming, small hotel on a beautiful street near Hyde Park and Paddington Station. The staff were accommodating, their breakfast was the best I had in London. Try the porridge! There was no air conditioning in our room so this may be an important factor in your stay. Perhaps there is air conditioning in certain rooms and I would ask before you make a booking. Also please ask about your bathroom, because ours was small but that didn’t affect our stay at all. There is a lift in the hotel.
