Good location, nice straight-forward comfy room & very clean!

Nice and easy to find from Paddington, very comfy bed, decent sized room for the fair price paid, friendly welcome, quiet at night, nice little bathroom and very clean. No worries for a budget hotel, and definitely recommendable and in a decent area as well. There's a lot of guest houses around here, but this was one of the better ones at the cost - 10 minutes walk or 5 minute run to get into Hyde Park as well!

SCAMMER - Be careful when staying here. We got scammed! We stayed from 17/6/24 to 21/6/24. We booked directly with the hotel and requested for a room for 5 pax and with aircon. They had told me that if I wanted an aircon room, I have to book a room for 7 pax as the room for 5 pax does not have aircon. I agreed and book a room for 7 instead. I don’t mind paying extra as we needed the aircon. When we arrived and asked for the remote control for the aircon, we were told that to have the aircon ON, we have to pay UK$20 per night. When we told them that we had already requested for aircon, they said that the price is just for the room and does not include using the aircon. Now which stupid people would request for airconditioned room when they do not want to use the aircon. We were speechless. We were very tired after a long flight and we do not want to argue. We paid for the aircon. They are a bunch of scammers. I think it’s a family business running this hotel.

Good hotel in a great location for a great price.

Great room in a great location for a great price. Room was clean, and toilet facilities were clean. Staff was friendly and we arrived late at night but we had no issue checking in. We were given a bigger room than we had booked with more beds but we didn’t mind that and the receptionist let us know Room was on the ground floor and was easy accessed. Facilities were good. The hotel was in a nice location with plenty of shops/cafes/bars nearby as well as it being really close to paddington station and tube line. There was some construction work going on next door which drilling and banging started from 8am but it didn’t really matter to us.I would rate this hotel slighter better than a budget hotel and would recommend it and use it again in the future.

    Good, reliable hotel

Especially for the area, this is a fabulous hotel for the cost. I thought it was too good to be true when I booked, but it really wasn't! There were no surprise charges, and I had a room to myself with a private bathroom (included a shower, toilet, sink, and mirror). I'd definitely stay here again!Pros: - The staff here were some of the nicest folks I've met in a long time. It felt like they genuinely cared about their guests' experiences. Not only were they friendly, but they went out of their way to make me feel welcome and appreciated. The gentleman at the front desk even moved my room to a lower floor so I didn't have to bring my big bags as far up the stairs!- Safe bag storage. Since I was there before check-in and wandered the city a bit after check-out, they kept my large suitcases behind the counter so I didn't have to take them out with me. There was no cost for this service in March 2024.- Super close to transport links to Heathrow and the rest of the city. I needed somewhere to stay for one night between Heathrow and Liverpool Street, and this was perfect. It's also comfortably walkable to a lot of the locations you might want to visit (museums, Kensington Palace, Hyde Park, etc.)- I felt very safe as a solo female traveller. You use your key card for entry into both the building and your room, and there was CCTV in all public places I came across.- Wifi was free and reliable. I also got great cell service on Three's network within the building.- There is a washroom that you can use before and after you get your room.Cons: - No fridges in the room, and no lift (elevator) in the building. For the price, these definitely weren't a make-or-break for me. - As it is built into an old townhouse, you can hear virtually everything going on in the hallway. The behaviour of other guests (ie screaming children in the halls while I was trying to sleep) is not the responsibility of the hotel or its staff, in my opinion, but it is still something to consider if you're a light sleeper.- No early check-in. If you're coming in on an international flight from North America like I was, make sure you check your tolerance for going without sleep! Check-in (as of March 2024) is 2:00pm, which meant I'd been awake for over 36 hours before I got my room. To be fully clear, I did know about this firm check-in time when I booked, and the hotel staff did communicate it with me beforehand too.Overall, no surprises! I'd recommend the hotel for a short stay in London.
