    Please consider another hotel

    rating05 May 2026

I booked a room with a kitchenette (Studio) on check in I was handed a piece of papers which said cooking was not allowed in the room. Despite it having the microwave and freezer there were no plates or cutlery. They also asked to scan my ID, this is not permitted for UK residents in a UK hotel. Once in the room I found evidence of bed bugs in the mattress. I was then moved to another room where the extractor was so loud and again no way to cook or eat in the kitchenette. I was then moved to a third smaller room where the wall paper and the door frame had been tapped up. The door was also already open as we approached. The receptionist knocked the door again, offering a room change. This would have been the fourth change.I contacted the hotel with my concerns who responded with. Cooking is not allowed due to fire risks, this suggests the rooms are not fit for purpose and are a fire risk and that the photos do not match their room and appear to be old. This means that they were selling rooms that could not be used as their intended purpose a breach of the customer rights act 2015 "A kitchen that cannot be used for cooking is a facility that is "unfit for purpose." As well as Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008 which prohibits "Misleading Actions" and "Bait and Switch" tactics.Advertising a room with a "kitchenette" implies it is a facility you can use to prepare food. By banning cooking after you paid, they misled you into a contract under false pretences. There also also signs staying that if you do not request a safe of give valuables to a manager then items (in rooms) are left at own risk as well as signs with hand sanitizer for covid - 19These concerns have now been passed on to the council and health and safety for investigation

    Bed Bugs

    rating18 Apr 2026

I was on a business trip, in the middle of the night I was woken up as my bed (and especially the pillow) was with bed bugs. They were even in my arms and my face. I was placed in a different room, but after reading all the damage control needed and the risk of bringing them to my house I asked for a refund. It was refused as they said they offered me another room, which I accepted and that they can send my clothes for laundry. Very dissapointing.

    Poor room good location

    rating22 Feb 2026

The room was quite nice but a few issues:- 2 plugs for the whole room and neither were near the bed or the mirror- Window didn’t open so was incredibly hot and stuffy (in Feb)- Very noisy room; I appreciate the hotel is on a busy street but the noise from outside was so loud in the night- The shower was weird; the water was lovely and hot but didn’t come out properly. The bath didn’t drain so using the shower filled up the bath despite not having the plug in!- No side table on one side of the bed so you had to put anything on the floor- Tv remote didn’t work - Because the bed has a frame round it all it feels short; our feet were touching the end

    Absolutely disgusting and disgraceful hotel!

Absolutely disgusting and disgraceful hotel! This was over £250 per room per night. I walked out in the end! The windows let in sound and coldness. Look at the pictures! Do not bother booking this hotel!!

    Reasonable and passable

    rating06 Dec 2025

I was always expecting to pay vastly inflated prices for December in central London. I paid £225 for a single solo room. The room itself was fairly clean but small. Bed extremely soft which I liked but I would gander that most people would find it too soft. The bed was I would say a small double bed and had a comfortable soft headboard and two pillows It was nice having a bath in the room with a shower also. The bathroom was really about the same size as the room and was very clean. Good water pressure and dispenser of shower gel. Initial impressions were it seems modern and cleanish but on closer inspection: The room could do with some TLC- wallpaper coming away from the wall. No TV remote- they got me one but the TV had no signal and didn’t work. Hairdryer was a nice touch but only blew cold air so not useable. Biggest complaint is there was no plug socket next to the bed which in 2025 isn’t very good at all. Being on street level next to the street meant to was noisy. No privacy curtain/nets so curtain had to be shut at all times so no natural light. Pleasantly surprised that was an iron and ironing board. When I get asked to provide photographic ID on check in I already know it’s not going to be amazing as inevitably it tells me that the hotel has problems around damages etc potentially some antisocial issues. I also felt annoyed we couldn’t bring food to eat in our room which is unheard off nowadays with all chains of hotels allowing this generally.Taking the London factor out of the equation, I can’t say it was good value for money with the room size and no food available. However for being in central London during the Christmas period I guess it was reasonable and by far the cheapest. However outside of London I would not pay more than £100 a night for this room. Outside of the Xmas period I would say this room in central London should be no more than £135 a night. It was somewhere to sleep and I felt safe. I probably wouldn’t return unless the price was right. It did what I needed it to do
