  Another brilliant stay at Citadines Trafalgar Square!!

  Another wonderful three night trip to London, staying in our favourite apart/hotel - CITADINES TRAFALGAR SQUARE.We have been coming here for a very long time and wouldn't stay anywhere else.Everything is so convenient - perfect location, 24 hour complimentary hot drinks in the comfortable foyer lounge, rooms which have exactly what you want for a short stay without blowing the budget (you could stay in The Corinthia over the road with Mariah Carey but you need to sell your house first).The best bit about Citadines is the staff - Vanessa, Francis, Oscar, Ayeesha - all lovely lovely people who give us a big warm welcome every time we come back - it makes a huge difference.We also love the tall blonde lady who looks after breakfasts - she has a tough job managing many people of different languages, nationalities and all different ages, all coming down at different times from the rest of their huge family groups - she works very very hard and deserves lots of credit. Lots of people seem to think they can just come breezing into the dining room and eat everything they want for free.. but they soon realise.....Can't wait to come back!!J&D

  Great Location; Rare Large European Hotel Room!

  Location, location, location! Located very close to Trafalger Square and easily walkable to two (Embankment and Charing Cross) tube stations - we were so pleased with this choice of hotel for our one week stay in London! It was during a rate May heatwave, but the air conditioning kept us cool! The size of the room we had (an apartment!) was a luxury compared to other European hotel rooms! Some pro tips if you stay here: 1. Bring earplugs just in case you are on a lower floor (we were on M), there is understandably City street noise. 2. Bring a wash cloth; in Europe, only hand towels are offered and 3. Be prepared to have cleaning service every few days as it is this hotel’s practice to not clean daily. One special note - The toilet had a sink on the back that ran to refill the tank! So you washed your hands and no water was wasted! I took video of it! LolEveryone we encountered who worked at the hotel was friendly! The hotel was very clean, and, the morning coffee was perfect! The doors require a card to open or you must be buzzed in so it was also very safe! Highly recommend!   We travelled to London from Australia. I am a wheelchair user due to a spinal cord injury. I am paralysed from the chest down.We emailed the hotel prior to booking, enquiring about wheelchair access. The hotel stated that they can place a ramp at the back of the hotel, and that the bathrooms have lowered amenities for access.On arrival, we tried to find the wheelchair entrance at the back of the hotel. It was unmarked. We came back to the front, to be chastised by a staff member for not seeing the wheelchair entrance.We then found that all the rooms had a bathtub for a shower, inaccessible by a wheelchair. The staff initially agreed to a refund. They advised me to keep the luggage in the room while I found an alternative hotel.About two hours later, I found the Hilton Curio nearby, who were accomodating, and had great accessibility. They checked me in quickly. My family went back to get the bags from Citadines. At that time, Citadines said that because we occupied the rooms for a couple of hours with our luggage, they will not refund the first night.The miscommunication with accessibility. I can understand. The lack of goodwill with the refund, however, is difficult to reconcile.   I've stayed at a few places and the Citadines has become my go to hotel. Love having the kitchen, easy access to the tube and shopping. If your doing your first trip this is a great location and makes so many attractions walkable. The staff has really helpful, I've already booked again for this fall.   Breakfast is terrible

  The staff are rude, the breakfast is terrible and the rooms are basic and dirty. If you are looking for a nice getaway this is not the place to stay.
