    There’s a real test of a hotel’s culture: how it performs in the middle of the night, when the guest is tired and the person at the desk is on the least glamorous shift. COMO The Halkin passed it effortlessly.The gentleman on duty, Raskmit, during my late-night check-in was warm, attentive, and completely on top of things — none of the going-through-the-motions energy you so often get on a night shift. I also arrived with an urgent laundry request, the kind of short-notice ask that would have been a polite “I’m afraid that won’t be possible” at almost any other European hotel. Instead, he immediately put things in motion, looped in housekeeping, and we found a working solution within minutes.These sound like small things. They aren’t. When you’ve travelled all day and finally make it to your room, the difference between being managed and being genuinely looked after is everything.Thank you to him personally, to the housekeeping team who jumped in, and to whoever is responsible for training and coaching the staff here — the standard is visible across the board.
