This lovely hotel has a wonderful location on an attractive square surrounded by trees. The nearest underground station is Paddington which is just a few steps away. It takes just a couple of minutes to reach attractions such as Madame Tussauds, the British Museum, Buckingham Palace and Oxford Street.

Facility

The hotel was built in 1850. 33 rooms, including 4 single rooms and 6 double rooms, are located on 6 storeys and can be reached by lift. English- and French-speaking staff at the reception are happy to assist guests at the reception desk round the clock. Check-in and check-out are available 24 hours a day. Amenities include a baggage storage service, a safe and a drinks machine. Wireless internet access allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. A garden provides extra space for rest and relaxation in the open air. Additional amenities include a TV room and a playroom. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the garage or in the car park.     Good hotel but some staff is horrendous

    My checking in experience was horrendous, I’m a solo female traveler and needed some assistance with carrying luggage upstairs as they gave me a room on the 3rd floor. The guy at the reception flat out refused and said I had the option of not taking my luggage in my room. I became upset and told him I was feeling really unwell and needed my luggage. He wouldn’t help me at all and starting yelling at me until it got to a point where I thought he would hit me. I started to cry. Then he finally called a porter who was able to help. Because of this experience I’m giving a low rating as otherwise the hotel was nice and in a great location. My check in experience really traumatized me although the rest of the staff seemed ok. According to our records, you were politely asked to wait for our porter to become available, after which you were displeased with the fact our employee could not specify a time frame of how many minutes it will take for the porter to arrive to help you and became offensive towards him. We do not tolerate offensive behaviour towards our employees.     Great location and cleanliness. Lots of noice from fridge, other rooms, tube and street. Very poor sound proofing. Nice beds and ok value for money. You get what you pay for.     Very tired hotel but great location and excellent value for money.

    The Dolphin Hotel is definitely a 3* establishment. My single room was tiny and very shabby.. you could hear the underground trains which made everything vibrate.. and I was on the 2nd floor. However, the staff were really pleasant, helpful and very polite. .Cooked breakfast was good ( although the communication between reception, where I had paid the day before , and the dining room was poor, resulting in some confusion as to whether they would feed me or not). This was rectified quickly. Despite the room size, the shabbiness and the underground noise.. for me, none of these things bothered me as it was in a great location and absolutely perfect for my visit to Royal Albert Hall. I slept really well in the very comfortable bed. All for just over £70. GREAT value for money.     Excellent location, being a short walk to Paddington Station and being surrounded by various restaurants. Spoilt for choice in that regard.Friendly and efficient staff and spotlessly clean room with comfortable beds.Lovely square outlook and quiet for London.We shall return.     Great stay in a very convenient location. The hotel was close to Paddington Station, which made getting around London really easy. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the area felt safe and lively with plenty of restaurants and stores nearby.
