    Good hotel located close to a historic place of film history

    Atmosphere, cleanliness, rooms and amenities were good.Noise level lower than expected before. We slept well.Very friendly stuff in the hotel.At the start of our stay the room temperature was a little warm. The week before there were >30°C and the room was still heated. Opening the window helped.

    AVOID this hotel, they are happy to use every trick in the book to squeeze money out of you whilst not delivering anything that resembles value. The first red flag is they charge for parking, not alot at £5, but considering it is their own purpose built carpark. I can stop at any premier inn and if they have their own car park it's free!! Food in bar was terrible had to go back, after burning a steak sandwich so bad it was impossible to cut or bite through. Air conditioning was not working so the room was uncomfortably warm, 2 fans where provided but it was the worst nights sleep, what with the heat but also the noise from the fans which was like trying to get to sleep on a Heathrow runway. The irony is not lost they tell us to reuse towels to protect the environment whilst needing blowers in every room just to stop the place from spontaneously combusting as soon as there is a warm day. The one positive was we where only their for one night. Premier inn's provide better food, showers, quality and that's before you get to the price difference.     Admittedly it was an unusual hot spell however, when I reported to reception in the morning that the the cooling system wasnt working. I hoped to come back from work to a cool room, but it still wasnt working, called reception and the person on the desk said that it doesnt work anywhere in the hotel until the summer, I asked him when that would be and he didnt know. This morning reception could have told me and the chap this evening wasnt helpful and was uninformed. I wont be booking here again. Also the shower cubicle is very small.
