    Room not what we booked.

    One of the worst experiences with a hotel in London. We had booked the basement room with a private bathroom. It was booked ten months in advance. We knew the hotel had no lift, but was okay with the basement, thinking it would only be a few steps down. Alas we were given 4th floor room, 69 steps to get there. We were given some sop story as that room had already been taken around 1pm. We had no option but to find another hotel, as there was no way we could drag ourselves up and down the 69 steps. We are 75 and 72 , 75yo has heart condition. No refund could be given for unused nights.

    Positive aspects:The only redeeming qualities of this hotel are: - the reasonable price (€90 per night) and - convenient location close to the city center.Critical issues:- Room condition: The room makes a depressing impression with dark gray walls that create the feeling of sleeping in a storage closet. The windows appear to be 100 years old, unpainted, and the room clearly hasn't seen renovation in ages.- Door access problems: The room door locking system worked poorly - twice we couldn't get into our own room and had to ask staff for help each time.- Tiny bathroom: The bathroom and toilet together occupy about 2 square meters with a deteriorated, poorly fitting door that provides no privacy whatsoever.- Water system problems: The shower is extremely inconvenient - cold water runs for about 10 minutes first, then becomes warm for maybe a minute before turning scalding hot with no way to regulate the temperature. We had to shower in barely lukewarm water.- Cleanliness: The room was quite dirty (except of those two square meters in the middle), which is unpleasant in itself.-🚨 BED BUGS: The most serious issue - there are bed bugs in the room! My wife was bitten so severely that we had to see a doctor immediately upon our return.Conclusion:Unfortunately, this is typical for overhyped tourist cities - high demand allows owners to completely neglect quality. I strongly recommend paying more and finding better accommodation. Our friends found a way better place for the same price. I booked this hotel through the Agoda website and can definitively say that the photos absolutely do not match reality. I really regret not thinking to take photos of the room (probably because I thought there was nothing worth showing off and wasn't thinking about writing a review at the time). I'm writing this review 5 days later.Such an experience was a first for us, and hopefully the last.

    Cancelled my booking on the day I was travelling down on a 9hr bus journey, completely messing up my entire weekend. Couldn’t get a great hotel after so had to go home. Don’t bother.

    ★☆☆☆☆ AVOID AT ALL COSTS – DOUBLE BOOKED AND TURNED US AWAY (Belgravia Rooms, Hyde Park, London)We had a confirmed reservation at Belgravia Rooms (Hyde Park, London) through Booking.com. After traveling all day, we arrived yesterday expecting to check in, only to be told they had double booked our room and had nothing available for us.No apology. No help. Just a completely indifferent “not our problem” attitude from the staff. We were left stranded in London with nowhere to stay.To make things worse, we’re now stuck in a lengthy refund process with Booking.com, hoping to get our money back — for a room we were never even allowed to step into.Belgravia Rooms is unreliable, unprofessional, and careless. If you value your time, money, and basic peace of mind, do not book this place — and Booking.com should seriously reconsider working with them.

    The room was absolutely filthy. There were bugs in the bathroom. The pillows and bedding smelled, and they were yellow with numerous stains; surely those could be replaced every few months?! The tiles were stuck to the walls with expanding foam and an excessive amount of silicone.Exposed electrical wires , electrical cabinet not secured. (Family room !)Absolutely awful .Think twice before making a booking.
