    SCAM SCAM SCAM DON'T BOOK

    rating28 Dec 2024

Absolute scam hotel we arrived after flying from Australia , on arrival we were meet out the front in the rain, to be told this hotel had closed in October. We were told our reservations were not valid as it was under new management. We then had to find another hotel, the only place we could get was miles away and $900 a night as it was a weekend. Have made numerous attempts for refunds but no emails have been answered. Very piss poor.

    Avoid

    rating06 Oct 2024

Be careful, they are now advertising as a Gower Street Hotel and are now back on Booking.com under this "new" name. That's the worst place I have ever been and the worst customer service I have ever experienced. They charged me twice for the room they refused me to stay in. And of course never returned the money.Disgusting

    WORST HOTEL

    rating28 Sept 2024

Worst hotel I’ve ever come across. I booked through booking.com in February. The hotel have ignored every single message I have sent them since then, including emails. 7 months worth of contact from myself and booking.com and they have ignored us both entirely. They double charged me the price of the booking and have stolen $500 from me through a authorised charges. Disgusting.

    Avoid Gower Street Hotel

    rating13 Sept 2024

I booked this hotel via Booking.com in April 2024 for myself and my work colleague. The hotel took the payment from my card in May 2024 but never sent a receipt.I sent a total of 10 emails to the hotel and also called them, but never made contact or received a reply.I took this up with Booking.com, but they were not interested. I arrived yesterday to check in to say I'd cancelled the booking for one of the rooms, which I hadn't.They did have one room for me, but not my colleague. She decided to go elsewhere. My room was dirty with a strong smell of drains. The bedsheets and blankets were dirt. The sink had not seen any cleaning products for a while. The bedside table had something g sticky on it, which I used a wet wipe.Do not book, worst hotel I've stayed in. the UK.

    Would not stay again

    rating15 Jul 2024

Location was really good. However..After reading the reviews a few days prior I wanted to cancel my booking but they had already taken the payment out and I have read on most previous reviews that everyone waiting for a refund was still waiting..I had messaged the property on Booking.com the day before regarding some questions and had received no reply. I had also tried to ring the property multiple times that morning and no answer. When we arrived for check-in, we rang the doorbell and there was no one present, a man then came up to the door who claimed to be the receptionist, he had a key which he said was not working and he had no phone.. no way to get into the property. He was telling us to ring the number on the door to which we did over 20 times and no answer. He said his manager was inside somewhere, we waited nearly an hour before he broke in through a door downstairs. We booked the superior triple room and it was a nice size. The room was fairly dirty and outdated.. we had 1 towel, minimal toilet roll and no tea or sugar and we asked for it.Our second night staying we heard banging upstairs around 3am which went on for 2 hours, the window didn’t lock, you can’t put a key in your side of the door and we knew if we tried to ring the hotel after 9pm (reception is only manned until then) we wouldn’t get an answer. We didn’t feel safe and we waited until sunrise at 5am so we could leave.Would definitely NOT stay again. I wish we had read reviews before booking as it’s definitely not a 3 star like stated on Booking.com.
