Location

Beneath the area where the hotel is located lie the remains of the Tudor Palace of Placentia, where Henry VIII was born. Buckingham Palace, the Tower of London, St. Paul's Cathedral, the West End of London and Theatreland are only 20 min away should guests wish to go further afield. London - Heathrow Airport is approximately 55 km and London - Gatwick Airport some 60 km away from the establishment.

Facility

The hotel has 3 single rooms and 48 double rooms, which are located on 4 storeys and are reachable by lift. The reception desk is open round the clock. Services such as a baggage storage service and a safe ensure a comfortable stay. Wireless internet access allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the car park. Further services include a car hire service, room service and a laundry service. The business centre is on hand for guests' business requirements and provides a fax machine.

Rooms

Air conditioning and individually adjustable heating ensure that rooms maintain comfortable temperatures. Guests can enjoy the garden view from a balcony or terrace.     The worst bed in the world.

    A reasonably well appointed room but the bed is the hardest I have ever slept on. Unless you like sleeping on the floor please do not book here. Staff very unresponsive too.     A lovely stay in very central London

    The hotel is an elegant structure located just behind the British Museum, an excellent base to visit London and neighborhoods (train, bus, metro ). Good value for money.Lovely room overlooking the quiet street, modern bathroom. Airy and luminous breakfast area, good British breakfast included in the price but it never varies . My advice is to change the variety of sweet and salty items during the week, (i.e. offering home-made pies instead of/other than little croissants , or a salad intead of/other than just tomato slices ) so that the breakfast experience can improvvisamente.Many magazines and touristic info available in the lobby and in the room.     I booked the grange portland hotel to be told i had been moved to the sister hotel on arrival. So we stayed at the grange Claredon. Id say it was a decent 2 star hotel but definitely not a 4 star.     Stayed here with some friends recently Great location close to the British MuseumStaff very friendly & helpful Clean rooms (ours was the quadruple)Excellent bathroom looking out onto courtyard gardenProperty is in an old building with sash windows which adds to the overall charm Comfortable large bed with quality linen Only negative was that breakfast was served at a connected hotel property down the road & there was 20 min wait for a table !     Not the best unfortunately

    Room was VERY dated (room 1) and in need of a refurbishment. We had an upgraded room so can only imagine what the room was like we were upgraded from. Bed was like sleeping on an ironing board, I like a firm mattress but this had no give at all. Breakfast was at their sister hotel just a few minutes down the road, not a problem, but, breakfast service was very chaotic, (two waitresses arguing in full view of customers!) My breakfast turned up and I had almost finished mine before my Mums had arrived. No toast arrived so had to ask again for it, that arrived after we both had finished our breakfasts. Wouldn’t choose to stay here again.
