    My go-to hotel in London - whether on vacation or business. Clean, comfortable and convenient! Just a couple of blocks away from Waterloo Station, a block away from The Cut with a myriad of restaurants and around the corner from the Old Vic. If in London for a quickie, this is a great hotel.     Hampton Hilton in Need of an Upgrade with Overtourism

    Located in Waterloo neighborhood, the hotel could be a good choice for sightseeing. There was a wide array of choices for breakfast and the room clean, comfortable and good sized with a small couch and a desk.However, I got the impression that the volume of guests far exceeds the facility capabilities. As a Gold card member, I reserved two rooms, one of which had. an issue with the air conditioning which the front desk tried to deny and only reluctantly changed rooms after visiting my son's room to experience first hand the lack of air conditioning. The other major issue was the unreliable internet, which faded in and out or simply was not available during our three night stay. There is no microwave or small fridge, though there is a kettle with tea and coffee. The door to the closet in my room serves as a pocket door to the bathroom. Storage space is limited to a small file cabinet next to the bed. These inconveniences made our stay very disappointing notwithstanding the efforts of a staff who is dealing with the challenges of overtourism in an inadequate facility.     Location is great, very close to Waterloo station.Staff in the restaurant for breakfast were very good.Reception staff could not have been any more uninterested or been helpful or professional if they tried. We felt as if we were inconveniencing the front counter staff by checking in. I thought that we had just had a bad check in experience, however we sat in the lobby and saw 3 separate groups attempting to check in, the front counter staff did not acknowledge the guests arriving.Our room temperature was so hot it was very uncomfortable, we had to use a small fan to cool the room. We requested to air conditioner be looked at, as did other guests, however it took 2 days for us to feel a slight relief. At no time ( after 2 requests) were we advised that our request would be actioned.Definitely would not stay there again.     Centrally located. You could walk to the London Eye or a short taxi ride to other sites. The staff was very helpful in helping plan excursions. The breakfast selections were amazing. The lunch and dinner menu provided many selections and the prices were easonable.     We were due to stay at the hotel this evening but unfortunately my little boy was violently sick on the way resulting in us needing to go home. We contacted the hotel asking for any flexibility due to the circumstances and whether we could reschedule but were told 'tough' and the full cost of the night would be charged. I appreciate it's a business but I'm not sure they would have wanted us turning up covered in vomit today!
