  Tired and dated hotel

  On first impression, this hotel looks quite nice from the outside and the reception area is clean, tidy, and welcoming. Unfortunately, once you get beyond reception, the rest of the building feels very tired, dated, and in need of refurbishment.We stayed in a family room which was a good size, however there was a spiral staircase with staggered treads leading up to two single beds. The banister was extremely wobbly and did not feel safe, particularly for children. We also noticed signs of damp within the room.Another downside is the location directly next to the tube line. While being close to Paddington Station is convenient, you can clearly hear every train passing and the building noticeably vibrates and rumbles throughout the day and night.Breakfast was particularly disappointing and did not match what was advertised. The atmosphere in the breakfast room felt awkward from the moment we walked in, and the continental selection was very limited. The options consisted of shop-bought croissants and pain au chocolat, Coco Pops or Cornflakes, and a choice of white or brown bread.The hotel advertised a “buffet breakfast” and a “full English breakfast”, including photos, but this was not what was provided. All three of us ordered fried eggs on toast and were served a plate containing three cold fried eggs with no toast – effectively one egg each.The positives are that the hotel is only a 3-minute walk from Paddington Station, there are plenty of shops and food outlets nearby, fans were provided in the room, the hairdryer was decent, and the reception staff were friendly and welcoming.Unfortunately, the condition of the building, concerns over room safety, noise from the tube, and the misleading breakfast advertisement meant our stay fell well below expectations.

  Forfærdelig oplevelse med beskidt værelse

  Meget dårlig oplevelse, med et beskidt værelse med chips og hår i sengene samt ingen sæbe på badeværelset samt heller ej toiletbørste og håndklæde til hænderne. Derudover var der meget lyst da døren stoppede 5cm over dørtrinnet så man kunne høre alt hvad der foregik på de andre værelser. Servicen var også dårlig, der blev ikke beklaget eller gjort noget ved problemet Vi gik efter ca 45 minutter og måtte finde et nyt hotel…A very bad experience, with a dirty room containing chips and hair in the beds, no soap in the bathroom, and neither a toilet brush or a hand towel. On top of that, the room was very bright because the door stopped about 5 cm above the threshold, so you could hear everything going on in the other rooms. The service was also poor there was no apology and nothing was done to address the problem. We left after about 45 minutes and had to find a new hotel…

  Centrally located with affordable price.

  The hotel is centrally located very near the Paddington train station. We got a family room in good price . No complain about the room rate but I would like to say about the noise experience before 12 pm and after 6am from the tube! It was like earth quakes .. every 5 .. 10 minutes. Room had old radiator and old decor . Could see the leaked ceiling . The bathroom was neat and clean. Breakfast was pretty continental with limited selection.

  Needs big refresh

  A pokey room, just big enough for the double bed, so not suitable for an extended stay. The room was pretty clean, however, and there was a TV and small shower room.The staff were friendly and welcoming but the hotel is let down by its faded appearance. It could do with a complete refresh. The wallpaper is frayed and the paintwork looks like it hasn’t been re coated for a couple of decades. Breakfast, included in the price, consisted of cereals, fruit, toast and yoghurts and the staff will prepare eggs to your choice.

  After 7 years staying in London hotels this is the worst by far

  I stay in London frequently and appreciate the concept of you get what you pay for however, this is terrible by any standards. Service non existent, room disgusting with holes in the wall etc. had to try and fix the bed as it was broken and buckling in the middle, I would not insult Argos saying they brought it from there as their metal frame beds are far better.
