    Great hotel, with fantastic location

    rating05 Jun 2026

Our family stayed at the Hotel Ibis budget London Whitechapel in this May for three nights. The rooms are small and basic, but clean, and when you come to London, you do not come here to stay in your room for all day.The all you can eat breakfast was also great: tasty and healthy. The famous Brick Lane is near with lots of shops and restaurants which have that sort of East End feeling. The Aldgate East (District Line, Hammersmith & City Line) underground station is literally around the corner. The Aldgate (Circle Line, Metropolitan Line) station is within a five-minute walking distance. Plus, the distance to all the major sights in London made the location great. It is situated on the border of zone 1, so you won’t have to spend too much on travelling either. The bus stop (where, for instance, buses 25 and 205 stop) is in front of the hotel, and with buses 25 and 205 you can easily reach the most important touristic attractions of London. We will definietly stay there again, and we will never want to try another hotel when we visit to London.I would highly recommend this Hotel because of its great price, cleanliness, excellent breakfast, courteous staff and perfect location.

    Horrible

    rating20 May 2026

As an Ibis employee in Hungary (Ibis Styles Hotel), I chose this hotel because I thought it would be just as nice and clean as the Hungarian ones. Unfortunately, the reality was completely different. In the triple room, even two people could barely fit. There were only a few centimeters between the bed and the wall. The toilet was dirty, there were no small towels provided, and the floor was also dirty. The view from the tiny window was terrible. The reception is located on the first floor, and the disabled access lift was not working. The hotel felt dirty and neglected overall. The breakfast selection was very poor — there were no vegetables and no hot food available. During the night, we could constantly hear water dripping or running above us.I will never stay at this hotel again.

Good location, but the room takes some getting used to

    rating16 Apr 2026

Great location right on Brick Lane — everything within walking distance. The price is very reasonable for London. However, the room was extremely small with very little space to move around. The biggest surprise was that the shower and sink are open inside the room, with no partition or curtain, offering zero privacy — including when getting dressed. The toilet does have its own separate space, thankfully. Also note: the reception is on the first floor, which is confusing as you enter on the ground floor with no clear signage. Fine for a short stay, but just know what you’re booking.

    Customer service not exciting

    rating03 Apr 2026

Tried to call the number, dial number 3 because I had some questions… no answer. I’ve called them 12 times in 1 day, still not answer from the “people at the reception”, so, I’ve called back again and selected option 1 instead (customer service booking team), I thought maybe the people at the physical hotel are busy and I can ask my questions over the phone with the booking team, was on hold for 34 minutes, not answer.Very poor quality service, I didn’t go there yet, so I can’t judge the rooms yet, but so far? Not impressed at all. Unfortunately if customer service is so bad, usually tells you a lot about their rooms, cleanliness and facilities. Alin C, at ibis Budget London Whitechapel - Brick Lane, responded to this review Dear Guest,Thank you for your feedback and I’m sorry for the difficulty you experienced reaching us.The number you called is routed through our central customer service team, which then directs calls to the relevant department, and this can sometimes result in longer waiting times. For direct contact with the hotel, the correct number is +44 (0) 207 655 4620.We appreciate your comments and hope to have the opportunity to provide a better experience in the future.Sincerely, Alin Corici - Front Office Manager

    Grubby and disappointing!

    rating11 Mar 2026

Don’t bother! I appreciate that this is a budget hotel however that doesn’t excuse it being dirty and the rooms having a woeful lack of facilities!I was surprised on arrival to find the shower and sink in the main room with only the toilet being separate - with no lock on the door and a light that would only stay on for 10 seconds on a sensor! There are no plugs anywhere near the bed, there are only 2 and they are by the tv.My room was grubby at best, with what appeared to be black mould round the window (see photos), marks on the walls and the remnants of stickers! The duvet was very thin and the pillows lumpy.Breakfast was very basic, no hot food other than a pancake machine and the juice machine wasn’t working.Won’t be staying here again.
