  Unfortunately having to write this here as getting no response from the hotel itself. After retuning to the hotel at a late hour from our evening out, we found someone had defeated on our landing - and from the horrendous stench, it had been there for some time. I promptly informed reception and it was eventually cleared up after being covers with a towel for a while however due to the horrific lingering smell, windows that don't open fully (which I understand why for safety reasons) and the fan in the room not being suitable, I spent my entire night outside and in my car until being able to safely drive home. The remnents and stench were still there when I left. This incident ruined my trip and entire stay which had been planned for months.   This was a last minute booking as the room at another hotel did not have air con or any colling system, I am pleased to say that this is AIR COOLED, so you are guaranteed about 10c difference (up or down) from the outside air temp,It was clear that this hotel had plenty of other people taking advantage of the air cooled rooms and despite having a twin room booked, at reception, I was able to secure a double bedded room.... At check in, it was informal, a bit of humour, which always goes down well, and above all knowledgeable. I thank VICTORIA for that, and also for wearing a name badge - as she would not have got that mention if she didn't.There was a gentleman, who was "security" more of a extra pair of hands if needed and the type to "hug a hoodie" than an image of a night club bouncer. However, do not be put off. The hotel is on a "developing part of London" and has been developing for over 30 years, but car park was and felt secure. Gates were locked at 10pm. And this in my view justifies the parking charge.The corridors leading to my room were depressing and more akin to a Mental Health Holding facility of the 1980s, Grey, dark and room numbers laminated on the doors. But inside was the correct IBIS bedroom layout and appearance. Great to see leaflets back in the room with a Menu etc... makes it so much more sense.Food, whilst was OK priced (7.95) for a toastie and crisps was filling and hit the spot. There is a TESCO on your way to the hotel, and also a petrol station, but that is all nearby. After this closes at 1000pm or 1700 Sundays, it does mean taking your car out and as the evening goes on, parking is tight.Over-all a "sound and solid" hotel that makes clear and provides reassurance to the Guest and the Locals about what is the physical boundary is between the two. Ticks all boxes on brand standards apart form room numbers on door, in my view.

  Very disappointed, dirty wals in the room, no complementary water, dirty plastic style bathroom with filthy towels. Aircon not working, making only some sounds. Do not recomend and defenetly dont come back.
