Cheap and cheerful for an overnight stay but not a first choice place to stay

Whilst its not the best hotel for a number of reasons it does have some positivesIf you are taking your partner for a fancy weekend break its not for you, however I was on my own and needed somewhere to stay at a reasonable price, and it was £100 cheaper than everywhere elsePositives are - the location, the price, I had my own bathroom and toilet, I used my own coffee making stuff provided in the room including my own fridge, and the room was reasonably clean. The desk is staffed 24 hours a day so security is goodNegatives are - the room was so small I could touch both walls with my hands when I was in bed, the mattress was terrible with a sag in the middle, and the bed was a camper bed version, the underground system runs beneath the hotel and I heard the trains every ten minutes. Doors were banging loud even at 4am in the morning, and the person next door used the hair dryer which sounded like it was in my room. The room was cold (but I like it like that) I would only use it again if I had to, but now I know what to expect, its a cheap and cheerful quick fix hotel for a very short stay

    Not staying again

Room was clean and had all the things we needed for an overnight stay. Staff were polite. We stayed in room 105. The noise was awful. Big gap in the door. Not a true double. Bed squashed against wall. The worst mattress ever.

    I lasted 45 minutes-1 HR.

I am not super picky when traveling. As long as it’s clean and safe. I decided to come a day early before my sister arrives and we go to our hotel. I booked last minute through Expedia, and the low reviews were mostly for noise which doesn’t bother me. Some people wrote that it was clean, and the MUST be paid reviews because I was grossed out the second I walked in. I tried to give benefit of the doubt, but after getting into my room it instantly gave me”pay by the hour” vibes - the white towels were brown tinged, there were gross stains in the sheets, hair, possible bug(s) - I didn’t get too close. The toilet had some slug looking slime ball under it. And the SMELL. My lungs still hurt from the overuse of chemical cleaners and spray. I told the front desk that it was disgusting. I’ve stayed in hostels, and cots in clinics in developing countries on volunteer trips that were cleaner. With an hour or so I had another hotel booked. Hoping Expedia will at least credit me or my credit card will dispute it.
